New crossing
increased noise and air pollution
The new zebra crossing has been a disaster. Increase in noise and air pollution, increase in traffic, slower journey times, traffic jams, road rage instances.. giving people a quicker shorter alternative to walking around Richmond has had a hugely negative impact on traffic, air and noise pollution. People already had several access points to the main streets and an extra few years of walking in this day and age would be more beneficial to everyone. Instead people have shorter to walk but the build up of cars and therefore fumes and road rage incidents outside of odeon cinema has gone up tenfold. This was an ill conceived and implemented plan that has had negative results. It needs rectifying if anything the public should be encouraged under the bridge and barriers preventing road crossing installed so traffic can move freely and cars move through town at a better rate reducing the negative impact
