Parking opposite junction
8th September
Parking at this location, and at the nearby junctions of Longfield Drive / Beadon Rd, and Round Berry Drive / Beadon Rd has become problematic and is causing a hazard. Vehicles, including boats on trailers and caravans, are being parked close to and opposite the junctions. It is likely that this could lead to a collision and parking enforcement or restrictions should be seriously considered before this happens. Some of the problem is because of trade vehicles and tourists parking here to avoid paid parking in town or at the park & ride, but there are also vehicles (notably boats and caravans) left here for such long periods that they must belong to local residents.

Weeds in gutter area between road and kerb
6th September
Hi, Longfield Drive, and other roads on the Beadon Estate in Salcombe are looking very unkempt because of the extent of weeds that are growing in the gutter areas between road surface and pavement kerb. I don't think this can be cleared by a road sweeping vehicle as it is too established and really needs the weeds and organic material removing with a spade and stiff brush. This would smarten the area up considerably. Thanks

Road surface totally eroded a mass of big potholes
27th August
These potholes have been getting worse for months -after becoming particularly bad in the Winter snow.
The pavement at this junction is also dangerous due to the roots of the massive tree which for safety should be removed.

Street has not been cleaned for weeks.
22nd January
The street has not been cleaned for weeks. If cars are parked the mechanical sweeper just avoids the area. A man with a brush and shovel would have cleared the piles of debris -vegetation mixed with litter. Also the policy of just leaving weeds in the gutters and on the pavements should be reviewed. The weeds will be lifting the tarmac and this policy will result in significantly higher cost.

Weeds are lining road and pavement edges throughout Salcombe - in some cases such as Cliff Road weeds are over 2 ft high.
13th October
The road and pavement edges used to be sprayed with weedkiller and the street cleaners used to hoe out weeds. Now they are not sprayed and the mechanical cleaner gets nowhere near the weeds. The whole town looks neglected - which it is. Shelve the Vanity project for tarting up Whitestrand and concentrate resources on the basic cleaning.

The use of a mechanical cleaner in Salcombe is useless. Such machines are only suitable for plazas. The pavements are not cleaned
the machine does not pick up pine needles or wet leaves. I saw the machine driving out of Salcombe at 10am - presumably because it was wet
The mechanical cleaner needs to be retired and replaced with human street sweepers. I have never seen Salcombe look so neglected. The weeds on the roadside and pavement edges need to be hoed out. The mechanical cleaner gets nowhere near the edges. The little alleys and steps need serious cleaning and clearing. Accountants may say a mechanical cleaner is cheaper but as it most definitely does not do the job it is actually a waste of taxpayers' money. This problem has been building since the human street sweepers were removed from keeping salcombe clean - they really cared.from
