On the road leading to Prawle Point
large deep pothole plus numerous slightly smaller potholes
Despite multiple reports to the Council the multiple potholes and generally very poor condition of the road from East Prawle to Prawle Point continues to disintegrate. Whole sections of the road have lost their edges, very heavy mud from farm vehicles hides some large potholes making the road treacherous. As a community we are looking at exploring ways to fix the road ourselves as our requests for help are not being responded to. Though a rural road it is very well used and serves as the only route to the houses at Prawle Point for all vehicles, including emergency vehicles!! We the residents of Prawle point would like to meet with the Coyncil as the situation is now serious.

Tree Down Across Road (Prawle Point)
10th March
Tree has come down, probably because of the lack of maintenance to the drainage at side of road.
It's fall was broken by a stone wall, which looks like it will give way sometime soon!! Branches 4 feet above the road at present which hit my car as I drive through to get out. This is the only road out of Prawle Point, tree represents a clear danger. Many other trees along the roadside in similar stat of peril, urgent attention is required before someone is injured!! Would appreciate urgent attention. The refuse lorry may well be blocked this morning from getting to the Coastguard Cottages!?

Pot Holes Numerous / 12 inches wide
ten inches deep
The road has numerouse potholes which where deemed not large enough to fix. A few months later and they have grown, I'm sure they now are large enough to warrant fixing please.

Blocked drain sending water down road Reported in the Blocked drain / Flooding category by Michael Healey at 12:57
Thursday 22 January 2015 Sent to Devon County Council 4 minutes later
This problem has still not been rectified by the Council. Water continues to flood down the road and further considerable erosion is taking place. The rutting at the side of the road is over a foot deep and ten inches wide , getting wider.
This presents a clear danger to traffic and as it is the ONLY road out of Prawle Point it will not be long before the road cannot be passed.
Please rectify immediately, as this has been repeatedly reported over several months!!!

Blocked drain sending water down road
22nd January
The Council should be aware of this issue. 2 months ago my wife spoke to the lengthsman at site who reported he was aware of the problem and something would be done. Nothing has been thus far. As a result the large amounts of water flowing down the road instead of underground into the pipe that diverts the stream into the field, it is running down the road. Currently the channel the water has eroded away down the side of the road is a foot deep and in places over a foot wide running some 40 metres down the hill. If this issue is not addressed within the next week or so it is likely that the road will become impassable. This road is the ONLY road out for 11 houses, meaning we will be cut off. Please can someone address this now serious matter in a way that prevents this happening again as it has over the last several years.

Road close to being inpassable
14th July
As per my previous report of 4 weeks ago despite numerous reports to the council the road has still not been fixed. It is in a serious state of disrepair. One pothole is two feet deep and 2 feet long. The poor drainage on the road see continued serious erosion on a daily basis. This will close the road in a few weeks as the hole gets bigger!!!! A week after my last report 4 of the 40 plus potholes where filled, two or them have almost emptied all over again. The guys I spoke to doing the work told me they could only fix what was on their job sheet, and that was a maximum of 4 potholes at a time.
What do we have to do to be taken seriously!!!!?????
I would like the council to contact me to discuss as a matter of urgency. 01548 511 310 Mr Mike Healey

Disintegration of Road to Prawle Point
16th June
Road is breaking up, multiple potholes, several two feet across and a foot deep. This is causing damage to tyres and suspensions. Issue has been reported over the last 3 years and still no action. Road is now almost impassable. Another tyre damaged beyond repair at the weekend!! Problem reported at the beginning of the year to the Chivelstone Parish Council. Short of repairing the road ourselves we are at a loss to know what to do next!! This is an urgent situation on a well used lane/road. For residents there is no alternative way out unless we go by boat!
