20mph zone around Woodmansterne Primary school and surrounding area.
22nd July
I write to formally request that SCC consider reducing the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on/around Woodmansterne Street/Court Haw Road, through the main part of Woodmansterne Village, and in the vicinity of Woodmansterne Primary School. These roads are narrow, residential, and characteristic of a quiet village setting. However, during rush hourparticularly at school drop-off and pick-up timesthey become exceedingly dangerous due to increased traffic volumes, speeding vehicles, and limited visibility. This situation poses a significant risk to the safety of local residents, especially children walking to and from school. Across the country, councils have already taken the proactive step of reducing speed limits in similar residential and school-adjacent areas to 20mph. These decisions are being made not in reaction to tragic incidents, but as a preventive measure rooted in common sense and public safety. SCC should not wait for accidents/near misses, or worse before taking action.

The path is blocked by the overgrown hedge
you can't walk on the pavement/path it is particularly dangerous for buggies and wheelchairs
The path is in Woodmansterne Street Recreation Ground. There is no pavement the other side of the hedge so there is no option to not walk through the cricket pitch. There is a sign saying the cricket club are responsible for maintenance of the Recreation Ground but this might be an d sign as the Recreation ground belongs to the council

Crumbled pavement surface directly outside my house (#456) that could cause injury to pedestrians

This hole in the pavement has likely been caused by cars from our property driving out onto the road over our dropped kerb. It is now bad and could cause a serious injury to a pedestrian if he/she tripped on it.

Excessive speed and amount of traffic
1st July
The traffic on Rectory Lane has increased significantly in the past few years. This is a narrow lane with bends and blind corners. Cars exceed the speed limit constantly. I fear for children and pets. I consistently witness parked cars being hit at speed, losing wing mirrors and suffering damage and the culprits just drive on! One day, there will be a fatality. A while back, a car travelling at speed hit a kerb and flipped on to its roof. This lane was not meant to be used by so many cars and it seems that it is the road of choice for joy riders and speeders. I can not hear myself think if I open my windows for the roar of speeding cars going past. Please please please can this be addressed by either installing road humps or better still a speeding camera.

Overgrown hedges the length of Woodmansterne Lane (northside)
1st July
The hedges to the north side of Woodmansterne Lane have, of late, been badly maintained resulting in traffic travelling eastwards being forced to cross over the middle of the road (cat's-eyes/white line). This in turn has on numerous occasions required traffic travelling from Woodmansterne to Banstead (westwards) to drive on the pavement thus endangering pedestrians. I appreciate that the hedges per se may not be the responsibility of Surrey County Council (or Reigate & Banstead) but would be grateful if a Highways officer could engage with the respective landowners to resolve this issue. Until recently the adjoining fields were owned by local farmers / agricultural contractors who themselves maintained the hedges. Since the farms have been sold and developed the land ownership has changed. I assume that the new landowners are unaware of their duties to maintain the hedges (both in height & width) & would be grateful if SCC could intervene.
