Outside Number 37 Hampstead Lane
23rd April
Hello,
Temporary traffic lights have installed outside 37 Hampstead Lane in order to carry out drainage works which are causing severe disruption at busy times. The works are estimated to go on to 10/05/25.
Due to the business of the road, cars are jumping the lights in both directions, resulting in a stand off in the middle of the lights and extreme levels of noise from honking. Cars are also travelling through the lights at extreme speeds in order to try to miss the red signal, causing a safety hazard.
We have contacted the company carrying out the works (Marlborough) who have said if the lights are operating correctly, its not their problem and is a matter for the police or council. Please can you advise/investigate.
Many thanks,
Nicole Mitchell

The manhole cover has been faulty since the pavement was redone possibly two years ago. There is a yellow temporary overcover which has been there for a considerable time - at least a year!

Trip hazard tree pit outside UOE Post Office N2
20th April
The tree pit at 120-122 High Road N2 is far lower than the surrounding pavement creating a trip hazard. Given that this is on a busy shopping street outside a post office, please can Barnet top up the pit with a permeable covering (as used outside pharmacy at 168 High Road N2) to remove trip hazard.

MASSIVE potholes
17th April
I've already reported this and it seems many others have too but they're still there WEEKS later so I can only assume you've ignored it. There are two massive potholes about 2 meters in length and about 4-5 inches deep right here at the pedestrian crossing outside All Aboard charity shop on the high road (124 High road N2 9ED).
I hit this on my cycle the other week and almost came off into the path of incoming traffic. Fix this asap before someone is seriously injured or killed please. Do not ignore our pleas.

Consistently being blocked in
15th April
When cars park outside numbers 19 and 30 Albion Avenue, they make it impossible for numbers 19 and 32 to get out of or into their driveways. This problem has been going on for years but has got significantly worse since Halliwick Rec has been done up last summer and become more popular. Several times a day on a daily basis we, and our neighbour across the road at 32, can't get out. My partner often works weekends and evenings so this is a problem 24 hours a day. Drivers are not always in the park. Often they park here, then go off in the opposite direction so we can't even find the owner of the vehicle in the park. Often they are in the park though and it has come to the situation that I am having to stand at the park entrance and yell into the park, "Who owns the black Volvo, registration {such and such} which is blocking us in??!!" so that we can get out, which is not a very nice thing to have to do. This is after my partner has been sitting hooting with his van trying to get out and no one coming. As you can see from one of the attached photos an emergency services vehicle couldn't get past a few weeks ago. We are in the process of trying to get the bay outside no 19 and 30 turned into residents' parking bays because then we would recognise the cars and could then politely ask the neighbours to move if necessary, although the neighbours do tend to park considerately (right up next to the hedge) thereby not actually usually causing an issue. Unfortunately we can't wait for the outcome of the petition and are hoping posting here may result in a faster outcome. It feels rather ridiculous that we are trapped in our own houses on a daily basis and can't get to work because of inconsiderate parkers. Simply making these two bays residents' parking would solve the problem and all the neighbours are in favour (as the petition shows).

Fly tipping
14th April
More fly tipping at this location. This happens on a regular basis and I have reported this to Barnet Council on several occasions. I have sent them pictures in the past not only of the people responsible but also their vehicles with registration numbers and telephone numbers but they seem unwilling to take any action against those responsible even though they have put a sign up telling people they could be fined. This is now getting ridiculous and seems to just be tolerated even though it is not only unsightly but a health hazard.

Dangerous potholes
12th April
There are still multiple large and deep potholes on this road. Part of the road has been resurfaced but section with potholes has not This is a steep hill road and it is likely cyclists will be at higher than normal speed at this point. The road is poorly lit. These potholes represent a hazard to all vehicles. They are very dangerous to cyclists and motorcylists.
