Roots causing pavement to be very undulating.
2nd May
This area of pavement was reported last year but the repairs were totally inadequate. The tarmac lifted in few days and the concrete crumbled in the first rain. The ground is very uneven and if walking at night it is a major trip hazard.

Parking blocked by tree
1st May
Not only is tree so large it it is difficult to park alongside but branches growing at low level out into road reducing available parking in an area where parking is already limited. As you can see from photo there is a large space between cars which cannot be used unless you are happy to take a chance of scratching your car.
There are several trees on the road with foliage that needs cutting back at the base. Different ones have been reported at different times but council dont seem to do anything to instruct and cut back.

Blocked drain first drain on the right past junction with Ashley Rd/ Church Lane TD. I wrote to Nick DarbySCC Councillor for the Ditton’s and he suggested in his reply to my message to him that I send my message and report this on
1st May
Hello Nick, I am contacting you re a second abortive attempt to clear a drain outside 2 Ashleigh Rd Thames Ditton village. A large drain clearing lorry arrived late morning, spent some time parked on the corner of Ashleigh Rd /Church Lane, and then left because a vehicle was parked over the drain. This is at least the second time this has happened in March and now again in April. Why dont SCC Highways put cones out at least one/ two days ahead to try and discourage people from parking when drains are due to be cleared? Its a complete waste of our hard-earned money being spent by SCC for an abortive trip where nothing is achieved. This particular drain causes flooding when we get rain. I look forward to hearing what can be done by SCC Highways to improve this situation. Aligned to this if there was some attempt to do street cleaning in the Autumn after the leaves have fallen the drains maybe less blocked? I know its all about resources and available money.

There are no speed breakers or any safety for speeding traffic on this road. Almost every week there is a collision or near collision on this road. Bikers are going on super sonic speed. Cars are driving down like maniacs. There is no visibility on the cross road. Buses ply on this road. There is long Ditton park so kids are always walking up and down the road. Why have you still not put speed breakers or road safety on these roads. Lot of residents have asked and emailed about it to no avail. I will be taking this up with the local MP and putting up a formalsafety

Ankle-high Concrete Lump Trip Hazard on edge of Giggs Hill Green KT7 - dangerous trip hazard when crossing Giggs Hill Road
26th April
When walking into Thames Ditton Village Centre from Giggs Hill Green, the pedestrian has to cross Giggs Hill Road, one of two options being on the W side opposite the cricket club. At this crossing, between a locked metal gate and a ditch, there is a hard-to-spot ankle-high concrete lump in the ground (remnant of former gatepost?).Today 26/4/25 a pedestrian tripped on this and fell into the road, causing injuries necessitating a trip to the Teddington Memorial Walk-In Centre. The road is busy and this is very dangerous for people with issues with sight or mobility in particular, and for everybody.
