Potholes/Substandard Service Works in the Carriageway
23rd July
Further degradation has occurred to the road surface where previous services works have been undertaken in the carriageway. The result is more severe shockwaves are now being sent through the houses on Scalby Lane when heavy vehicles drive along the road. This is may be the cause of surface cracking and other plaster damage occurring in the homes adjacent.
Please can the council either; 1) Rectify the road surface within a reasonable period (suggest 28 days). 2) Impose and enforce a limit on the weight of vehicles that can use Scalby Lane to prevent the nuisance to the home owners and potential further damage to their homes. 3) Provide independent assessment to the householders of the nuisance and damage caused and arrange for appropriate compensation.

Road surface issues
1st April
Various service installations over a period have resulted in a "patchwork" of road tarmac resulting in different surface levels with little tar overbanding. When large vehicles drive along Scalby Lane the effect of their tyres on the differing surface levels results in significant tremors being felt in a number of properties along Scalby Lane. Some of the edges of the patchwork patches are starting to degrade and will result in potholes if not attended to.
