Unsafe roadworks
25th February
There are works going on in the pavement which are currently unattended with no barriers/signs and guarding. There is also no available pavement now that is safe to walk down so people are being forced to walk in the road on a blind bend. The pavement surface has been dug up which is very hazardous. All very unsafe.

Illegal parking
14th May
There are road works on this junction and three cars have parked completely blocking the way through so I had to drive around the road works,on the wrong side of the road. If a car comes the other way it would have been impossible to access the way through. This has been happening on a regular basis, all the time the road works have been there.

A botched road repair by SWW to fix a leak of water up through a previous repair resulting in water running down the carraigeway and into Dawlish Water
5th January
The water comes up through the carraigeway and then runs down Aller Hill to Dawlish Water. At present the temperatures remain above zero but this will freeze and become a dangerous icerink when temperatures drop. This was originally reported on DCC website and both DCC and SWW said it was not their problem. A "repair was made either side of Christmas by SWW and carriageway reinstated, however water is still trickling out of the repaired section and down the hill. Could tyhis be from a gully driaing uinder the road further up the hill in Ashcombe Road? TYHis needs action before we get a cold spell.

STOP THE ROT! The public want positive action once and for all.
31st December
This terribly neglected historic vicarage has wrongfully been left to rot! It can't go on any longer and must be a priority to honour this once attractive building and bring it back to life respectfully!

Subsiding road not meeting pothole specifications
30th December
Slowly sinking area of road probably due to failure of water carrying culvert under the road. Note the drain on the west side of the road is often blocked probably due to the subsidence and this causes streams of water to run down Beer Hill adding to the problems caused by flooding at Stonelands Bridge (formerly Weech Bridge).

A Neglected
historic and drastically failed listed building
This is a former wonderful historic vicarage linked to St Gregory's church in Dawlish, which has fallen into the hands of a subdivided site. The two companies (one dissolved) have failed to maintain it and the council have failed to act with the notices served to preserve it. This needs to be salvaged by a decent local developer, who has respect for listed buildings, that can sympathetically restore, rebuild in parts and bring it back to life with a small number of attractive homes for people to buy. Bringing back it's beauty, respectful to it's original look. The gardens could also be landscaped beautifully honouring how it once was. We need to respect historic buildings, but also, where obviously required, enable new materials to rebuild collapsed sections and to internally bring it up to modern day standards for warmth and insulation etc. Enough is enough!

Dangerous Building. Accident waiting to happen.
29th October
The Old Vicarage is in a terrible state of disrepair and is a major accident waiting to happen. It is a total eyesore for the local residents and is riddled with rats and other vermin. It could be such a lovely focal point for the cul de sac Vicarage Gardens. A nice simple development in keeping with the local area is needed urgently.

Dangerous building
29th October
13, Weech Road was once an elegant building but is now in total disrepair. It is also Listed though hard to believe why when it has almost completely collapsed. It has been gradually falling into disrepair over many years. The District Council has failed to protect it in the past and yet would not accept an application to build small-scale on the site while retaining part of the building that was once salvageable. Now it has rotted almost completely. Part was of cob construction which has more or less 'melted' away. This site is an eyesore and a potential danger with youngsters gaining access over the fence. It must surely be deterring any house sales in the vicinity and lowering nearby property prices in general. Needs to be de-classified and replaced with some small scale and urgently needed accommodation.

Eyesore on Weech Road
28th October
Number 13 Weech Road (the old vicarage) has been left empty for decades and is in a state of collapse. The local council keep rejecting proposals put forward by the developers. We need this sorting all the local residents have to look at this ruin everyday.

Listed building left to rot. Enough is enough!
19th October
The locals have a clear vision of how this former beautiful listed building could be transformed respectfully and sympathetically with a small number of houses (4 or 5) that could be bought by local families who could bring the former vicarage back to life. New materials would be required to rebuild the collapsed cob sections, but externally could be kept in keeping. The solid stone Victorian wing would look stunning once renovated and the original brickwork could be cleaned and restored sympathetically. The gardens be landscaped and parking provided near the collapsed wall.

Untidy land 13 Weech Road Dawlish
19th October
Never had a reply to the 'failed listed building' sent on the 1st of September? This is to do with the unsightly grounds that have not been tidied up due to the owners being locked out by the council and while a validated application at the time was waiting a decision that took 2.5 years to reach. The worst collapses to the listed building occurred during this time. Eight weeks is the usual timeframe for a decision regardless of insufficient information or not. However, I've been informed by other locals that the council had said in August they'd send someone to take a look and get it tidied? Never happened clearly as it's got even worse! Since TDC don't obviously own this site they shouldn't prevent the owners gaining access? Children are regularly seen climbing the hoarding erected by the council which could result in a fatality! Who'd be liable?

Unnecessary eyesore in need of desperate restoration/rebuild
15th October
This dilapidated listed building, needs some TLC and respect from the local council and the district council urgently. The community/council tax payers deserve to have something done and not affect their house prices near the site and surrounding area. Many people use Weech Road to their employment in Exeter, taking the back road which can be quicker and are aghast at the unnecessary eyesore. Enough is enough TDC.

Dangerous and derelict - a sad loss of an important historic building
10th October
The Old Vicarage has effectively been abandoned by its current owner. This important Grade II listed building, in part dating from the 17th Century, has been left to decay without any action being taken to halt the ever increasing dereliction. The property is now in a perilous state, attracting anti-social behaviour and vermin. The site is dangerous and there is significant concern amongst local residents that a fatality may occur before any action is taken regarding this building.
