Cars parking on the pavement ... is this legal?, 1st December

Tue, 01 Dec 2015 17:11:37 +0000
54.143097 -1.418873

Cars parking on the pavement where the road narrows opposite Grange Close, Back Lane, Dishforth. Sometimes large delivery vehicles have been unable to get through, and also there would be a problem should a fire engine have to access a property in that stretch of road. Whilst this is not a day long problem, it can mean someone in a wheelchair or pushing a pram will have to go onto the road to get past. This issue is a long term one, and is at its worst at the start and end of the school day as the local primary school is in Grange Close.

Abandoned Vehicle, 7th May

Thu, 07 May 2015 23:13:17 +0100
54.13496 -1.407658

A gold Rover 25 with registration number YE51XWR has been abandoned in the car park area adjacent to Dishforth Airfield Welfare building. Police enquiries with the previous registered keeper confirm she sold it to another female, and having spoken to this female she claims never to have received the v5 log book. Neither female claim to have the v5 and neither are interested in doing anything further with it. The vehicle is insecure and a poor state and appears to have been used as a dog kennel. It requires moving as a matter of urgency to stop any further issues around the vehicle, ie youths acting in an anti social manner around it. Both parties aware that this will be reported to the council to have it removed and neither have made any objections. This was reported to the police as a security issue due to it being abandoned on the outskirts of an army base but it is more a problem of being a nuisance and needs removing at your earliest convenience. Many thanks, Pc 1593 Chris Parnell

Litter and Flytipping, 28th January

Wed, 28 Jan 2015 15:53:26 +0000
54.125953 -1.413851

Large build of litter along the A168 near all the makeshift Lorry pull ups and refuse bags in the woods between the A168 and Dishforth near Moor Lane. Litter is a recurring problem from the lorry drivers, that I last reported approximately 6 months ago. Area needs a clear up every 2 months to stop the build up, some bins and some litter enforcement to reduce the level of re-occurance and therefore save on regular clean up costs.
