Loose man hole cover makes loud noise as cars go over it, 1st March
I live right next to the road and the drink is becoming a constant annoyance. As cars drive over it it makes a loud metal on metal bang and it's getting worse. I can hear it in my house, it wakes me up at night and I cant open a window due to th sound of it.

Pot holes on near side (opp side to footpath), due to residents parking the side of the road nearest the hedge is used by both flows of traffic. The full width of the road on this side is used/needed. It therefore needs to be in good condition.

Excess speed in 30mph zone, 19th April
Vehicles on Highfield Lane (long downhill straight) not slowing down from 60 to 30, carrying excess speeds (50mph?) into High Street (or accelerating at similar speeds going up the hill). This has been reported by the parish council before, but no apparent speed enforcement has been taken, yet the police are regularly enforcing on the A170. The narrow lane is regularly used by dog walkers, families and horse riders. In the last 2 years, 3 cats have been run over - a child may be next! Speeding tends to be worse at beginning and end of working day - farm / horse stable workers?

Recent utility work badly finished, 5th June
Recently TWO utility companies (one electric, other poss gas) have dug up wombleton main street to connect services to Fir Tree Farm (recently refurbished) and the filling of the trenches is the worst known to man. The surface will probably fall out within months and the utility companies involved need to repair immediately.

Heavily overgrown road verge, 6th February
This has previously been reported (over a year ago), it was cut back, but only by a little, and has not been touched since. The verge is on the west side of Highfield Lane opp the entrance to Kirkdale Manor (a development of 24 propoerties), further up Highfield Lane are a busy racing stables and pig farm which both have a large number of vehicles visiting daily, the largest being articulated lorry size. The entrance to Kirkdale Manor is used by a lot of residents who live south of this entrance as a turning area. The verge is narrowing the available road width and forward visability by up to 1.5m putting pedestrains (no footpath) and road users at risk. The verge needs to be heavily cut back and have the stone wall that is present exposed, there is also an area of road edge to be repaired.

Road edge breaking away, 6th February
On the east side of High Street, just after the kerb stones stop the road is breaking up, narrowing the available road width, with the proximity of residents cars to the west side it is making the passage of larger vehicles difficult and accelerating the damage to the road surface. there is also a pothole forming a further 30m up the street.

Harome heads road is now badly potholes and is dangerous to cars because of both settlement and deep potholes.

Large pothole/dangerous sunken drain cover, 17th September
There is a pothole on the righthand side of the road, approx 10m up from the junction. Due to the parking of cars by residents the lane is used as a single file at this point. This pot hole has been increasing in size since last winter. there is also a heavily sunken drain cover closeby. Whilst is is a lane, it is used by a number of firms further up, that have articulated traffic to and from their premises, in addition to the farms and residents.

Overgrown Footpath, 17th September
Footpath leading down Gale Lane is heavily overgrown. This footpath is used by the school children attending Ryedale High School, forcing them to walk on the road, which given the high number of buses and narrowness of Gale lane is highly dangerous.
