Road safety, 27th September
A lot of traffic now uses Ness Lane, including school buses. This lane is not gritted in the winter and becomes extremely icy and dangerous. I know of at least 3 accidents that have happened on this lane in the last two winters. There are no white lines to indicate the centre of the road, which is a minimum safety measure, as there are also not up Cauklas Bank, which is also a bus route. I do think basic safety measures, which would include white lines and gritting, should be applied to all roads before money is spent on secondary measures, such as bollards and humps and kerbs. Yours sincerely, Rachel Clive
