This road closure (on the bus and school traffic route) has been in place for over a week and no contractors have turned up to commence work. If the closure is in place it will have a huge displacement on other routes as the term ends at Ampleforth College and pupils are collected or taxied to York Station etc.

Rubble, tarmac and litter left at my gate, 9th August
Please could the contractor responsible for curbing and resurfacing last week on Oswaldkirk Bank come back and clear up their mess and leave my gateway tidy, as they found it. I have a charity Open Garden on Sunday 15th August and this gateway was to be used. Thank you

Tall and thick trees blocking view for road users, 27th July
Road users driving down the steep Oswaldkirk bank when approaching the bottom of the hill cannot visually see ahead into the main street. The trees are on both private land at Laurel Cottage and on the NYCC public highway road verge. Please can all offending trees, which are fast growing, be completely destroyed.

Bushes and conifers blocking view for road users, 15th October
There are bushes and conifers on the grass verge at the bottom of Oswaldkirk Bank left hand side going down the hill in and near the garden of Laurel Cottage making visibility for road users difficult when coming down the bank or joining it to go uphill. There is a nasty left hand turn on to a single track road at the bottom of the bank which is made hard to see by these bushes too. The offending trees are on the grass verge which suggests they are Council responsibility. They need to be shortened in height on a regular basis or preferably permanently removed please.

Numerous, car damaging potholes on the road outside Park House Cottages, 24th March
The road outside Park House Cottages has been in a very bad state of repair for around two and a half years. Following contact with the council on numerous occasions, they are yet to take action. My car has subsequently undergone £92.00 worth of suspension repair following another run in with a pothole. They are impossible to avoid.
