This road was chipped about two weeks ago. Ive never seen such a terrible job done on the roads. One of the worst sections is around Acaster hill farm. There is almost more road that isnt covered in chip.. the contractors obviously haven't done a very good job and feel it should be fixed… no potholes were filled before the chip’s went down just a cheap job all round.

Ings Lane, Husthwaite - impassable!, 21st November

Thu, 21 Nov 2013 12:04:17 +0000

Ings lane between Ings beck and Manor Farm at Carlton Husthwaite has now become impassable on foot or by bike. There are some serious health and safety issues here also, not just for humans but for the cattle in the field to the north of Ings lane! There is a field immediately on the right between Ings beck and the dis-used railway embankment that has cattle in it and an area of the field next to Ings lane has been built up with stone to provide a solid surface for feeding the cattle however this area has now (as is the case EVERY winter) become about 3 feet deep in mud and and animal waste and is now flowing into and down Ings Lane! I propose that some ditches are dug out along Ings Lane and Ings Lane itself is built up with hardcore to prevent a serious health issue occurring and making Ings lane passable again.

Littering and Dog Fouling, 12th November

Tue, 12 Nov 2013 12:12:07 +0000
54.1687898944085 -1.21920952911375

There has been a big problem with littering and dog fouling down Bell Lane for quite some time now (years!). The main stretch of littering and dog fouling starts from the road near the school/cemetery down Bell Lane past Baxby Manor and then right onto Ings Lane over Ings Bridge. This PROW is used frequently by locals and visitors to the area.

Road Markings, 12th November

Tue, 12 Nov 2013 11:57:06 +0000
54.1688181573422 -1.20723614807127

The road markings in and around the village are wearing away and in places are very hard to see. This is fine for people who live here and know where the Give Way junctions are but for people less familiar to the road layout it could be a potential safety hazard.

Hi, the footpath is in desperate need of resurfacing from outside of the cemetery, past the school all the way up to Wentworth Avenue on the right hand side as you enter the village (from Amplecarr). The last repair/resurfacing which was done some years ago is now disintegrating so badly that it has become dangerous in places.
