FIXMYSTREET IN YO61 3DQ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of YO61 3DQ:
Could not see which way to Divert, 24th October
Travelling from York to Middlesbrough on A19 last night . At the first roundabout for Easingwold heading North the A19 showed a sign that the Southbound Road was closed 1900 to 0600. The divert signs from this point were of no use. What was the diversion plan? Where you supposed to go into Easingwold and then head North through Easingwold to re-join the A19 at the further North Roundabout. If this was the plan no diversion signs showed this. We had to go back to the York bypass and to go to A59 to A1M to re-join the A19. Please advise as we will be travelling this route on 30.10.2023. Is there an online site that shows this road closure and the planned diversion?

Obscured Road due to Car Parking, 23rd August
There seems to be continuous problems in people using the pavements and the road entering Wilkinson’s Court as use for a dark park some of which park really near the junction making it very difficult to pull out onto long street with other vehicles parked there obstructing views. There are several cars on the court at this present time and I have just witnessed a van trying to get past. This concerns me as I very much doubt a fire engine would have access Is there possibly a way of getting double yellow lines to try and put a stop to this. It is not fair on resiDents who have their allocated parking spaces.

Dangerous exit onto Stillington Road, 7th July
Roadside vegetation impairs vision but the real problem is excessive speed by vehicles including heavy lorries and motorcycles. The road appears to be used as a racing strip on leaving Easingwold and some vehicles are travelling up to 100mph estimated. The road is frequently used by cyclists and the potential for fatal accidents is very high.

Condition of road unsafe, 25th February
Road has deteriorated badly. Needs a resurface as a matter of urgency. Watched a teenager struggling to ride along it on his way to school the other day - dangerous when the road is also used fully by trucks and buses. Just a matter of time before an accident happens.

Awful state of road ourstide primary school, 23rd February
Whole stretch of road has deteriorated. No resurfacing done by council for 20 years, at least. Heavily used by primary school traffic, lorries and tractors. 20mph road, but generally driven on faster, with vehicles slowing rapidly as they enter town. Big issue for cyclists, as road is not safe to ride on.

Cars covering footpath, 15th February
Cars are continuously covering the footpath.
This is a 1 way street down a hill with cars coming down quickly.
This is also a route for many school children to and from school.
The van was blocking the view of the road just round a bend as well as blocking the pavement. Having to walk on the road into oncoming fast cars round a corner you can't see round is very scary when you have young children with you. I regularly see children without adults walking to and from school and it worries me that they may get hit.
Something needs done about this street. There is a car park a few seconds walk away and the cars who park by the houses all have drives which are empty.

Van parking in road, 30th January
This van parks here every evening/weekend. There are no lines but there should be. This van completely blocks this side of the road, so cars have to drive onto the opposite side of the road to pass it. This causes a back up of traffic at busy periods in the morning and afternoon. There is space a few meters down the road where there is parking spaces or extra space at the side of the road yet they choose to park here and cause disruption.
