Rebar exposed beneath pothole, 15th March
Lancashire County Council are planning to resurface the bridge surfacing on A5209 as early as next week due to the deterioration of the surfacing. One of our inspectors has identified some rebar exposed on the bridge deck in one of the potholes. As the bridge is owned and maintained by National Highways (but LCC are responsible for the surfacing) we wanted to give you the opportunity to inspect and undertake any repairs to the deck or bridge deck waterproofing prior to us undertaking any surfacing works.

Road surface in dangerous condition, 7th March
This has been previously reported where the outcome was that an inspector was going to investigate. It's the roundabout at J27 M6 and specifically the road from Standish towards Appley Bridge, the road over the M6. Can you give us an update on the outcome of this investigation as the road is in a terrible state. Huge potholes, and parts of the carriageway are falling away. Its been like this for sometime now (over a year at a guess) and it's only getting worse. Cyclists and motorcyclists are in real danger using this road. Regular car/van users are encountering excessive wear and tear on the vehicles too.

Potholes and dangerous uneven surface surface on bridge, 26th January
The road surface has been repeatedly patched over the last 12-18 months and as a several times a day user of this road it is unacceptably rough and uneven. It is dangerous to a motorcycle or pedal cycle, there is a ton of aggregate in the channel and on the verge. Dead loads and live loads this imparts onto the bridge structure are unnecessary and cant be good for long term maintenance costs to the public purse.
