Whilst walking with my wife and dog as we came to ascend the steps from the woodland opposite the bridge and entrance to cunningham clough, my wife slipped and fell on the steps due to an accumulation of mud and wet leaves. If these steps were maintained regularly this incident would not have happened. This needs urgent attention to save this from happening again.

Atrocious footpaths, 29th January
The footpath over the railway bridge and surrounding area are absolutely filthy. The footpath on the bridge has not been cleaned for at least two years and consequently has accumulated layers of dead leaves which are soft under foot. We pay our taxes as do the residents of Chorley New Road yet their footpaths are regularly cleaned. Why are we not afforded the luxury of a road sweeper occasionally

Footpath subsidence/land slippage onto the railway line, 29th January
The railway fence adjacent to the bridge on Wigan Road has been collapsing for about two years and was reported by myself to the council at the time. It has gradually got worse and is now causing subsidence of the footpath. It appears that the slippage of the embankment has accelerated. Is this an accident waiting to happen, potentially with catastrophic consequences.
