The appears to be a deceased cat on the hard shoulder just after the slip road for Chester services heading towards Runcon. Its white/grey/black in colour but I'm pretty sure it isn't a badger from the shape and size of it. Apologies if it does turn out to be.

Cats eye lenses appear to be broken across all three lanes westbound between helsby and Ellesmere Port. Very difficult to see the lane markings in bad weather and poor visibility.

M56 Jct 14 to 12 eastbound hard shoulder drainage blocked, 8th May
Extensive areas of standing water at back of hard shoulder likely to extend into first lane. Either all gullies are blocked or drains are blocked. I don't use this route often so don't know how old the problem is.

Large pothole in 2nd lane of sliproad, 27th September
Large pothole/sinkhole in 2nd lane of sliproad. Difficult to see and near impossible to avoid. Caused the car to almost 'bottom out' on the carriageway when driving at a reasonable speed. Could easily cause significant damage or a big accident if not rectified.

A wide, deep pothole spanning the 2nd lane of the M56 J14 Eastbound offslip, 26th September
There is very deep and wide pothole spanning the 2nd lane of the M56 eastbound offslip. On exiting the M56 there is no way of avoiding the wide pothole. There was no way of swerving or slowing down in time. My car went through with a loud bang and worried about my fun flat tyres as this can cause a failure to MOT. My MOT is due tomorrow as well.
