Overhanging vegetation on footpath, 20th June

Wed, 20 Jun 2018 23:36:06 +0100
53.632309 -1.694363

Between Pond Lane and Lydgate opposite the petrol station the footpath is almost impassable due to bushes extending over the whole pavement. The situation is made worse as you can't step into the road as it is so busy that you would be in danger of an accident. I don't know if it is the council's responsibility or the owner of the hedge but something needs to be done about as it's a major hazard to walkers.

24 Potholes along the odd numbered side to Denby Lane Crescent, 8th March

This road receives very little repairs and is constantly full of potholes. Kirklees council always send a generic letter about how it carries out annual surveying and does throw a bag or two of tarmac in once in a blue moon. Because of the poor repairs they last about 2 months then they are back and are worse. I think I share a similar frustration that we pay direct tax from motoring via road tax and fuel which runs into billions yet very little proportionally is put into road maintenance.

*DANGEROUS* overgrowth on corner of Jagger Lane junction, 1st August

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 08:38:40 +0100
53.612491 -1.668673

*Photo taken from Google Maps, not up to date image* This problem concerns the grass/weeds at the road junction of Jagger Lane. The grass and weeds on the corner of this junction are now very overgrown and are causing poor visibility for anyone pulling out from this junction turning left to continue on Jagger Lane or right onto Titus Lane. I have seen many near misses and also been in a couple of near misses myself because you now have to come out further onto the main road in order to try and see if it is clear to leave the junction. This needs dealing with ASAP before there is a collision as this would be the root cause. The Emley Show is fast approaching and I am sure there will be a surge in traffic over the weekend which will increase the chances of an accident happening if this is not dealt with promptly.

Water is flooding out of the small woodland and adjacent fields on to Thorncliffe Green Road, 7th October

Wed, 07 Oct 2015 14:10:54 +0100
53.613184 -1.679572

Water is flooding out of the small woodland and adjacent fieldson the south and east of the point marked. This water runs across and down the north side of Thorncliffe Green Road. This causes a hazard to passing traffic under normal conditions, but in winter the water freezes and leads to the road quickly becoming impassable. The water needs to be diverted into the draining ditch running down the southern side of Thorncliffe Green Road. To some extent this has been caused by the farmer raising the threshold to the field opening gate where the "arrow / point" is placed.
