There is a burn which runs under the road. The tunnel which takes the burn under the road is blocked, causing the burn to flow over the road. The amount of water which now flows along the road is causing the road to break up and the bottom side of the banking to wash away (undermining the road). The problem is made worse by the fact the water is running round a bad corner, causing vehicles to come round the corner on the wrong side of the road due to the depth of the water.
