Plastic waste items on beaches., 14th January
As a recent owner by Carbis Bay, my wife and I walk the beach at least once a day. Appalled by the amount of plastic waste we always pick up such items we see, put them in a bag and dispose. Today however we went to St Michaels Mount and noticed the “2 minute beach clean” board with reusable bags and litter pickers. There were a number of families with young children, along the beach actively picking up waste and plastic items. It was all very encouraging. We think it would be really helpful and well received to have such a scheme at Carbis Bay and in fact other beach’s at ‘St Ives bay’ in the interest of wildlife and general cleanliness but also allowing people to participate. The ‘2 minute foundation’ has an extremely informative website too, which no doubt you would be familiar. Please can the local council consider this with the view of implementation as suggested. Thank you.

Speeding cars and vans., 4th January
I’m a new owner of a property along this road. It is a main thoroughfare for families walking to, and from Carbis Bay Beach throughout the day and obviously including many children. I am shocked at the speed of many cars and vans driving down and up the hill from Carbis Bay Hotel, during the day, and at night. Consequently there should be serious consideration given to implement speeding calming measures. For example, maximum speed limit 20mph ( or even less) together with “watch your speed” and a road traffic warning sign for ‘people crossing’. Other property owners here are also concerned but haven’t taken any steps to raise such concerns. I strongly believe there is a real risk of someone being badly injured due to speed.

Road gullies blocked., 4th December
The road gullies on this road are blocked with sand. Some full like the photo and others half full. Clearing these will alleviate profuse amounts of rain water travelling down to Carbis bay hotel car park.

Tree fallen causing obstruction, 8th September
A shrub/tree has fallen onto the pavement making it impossible for me (on my mobility scooter) to get past on it. This is particularly annoying as in order to get to the bin I need to get on the pavement where the kerb is lower. I think it's been about 2 weeks, at least, since it happened. Many thanks

Cormac patching job, 26th July
Another excellent patching job by Cormac, that is already bleeding earth/mud through the patch and is already dropping into a dip. The dips on the other side (SW bound) of the road are migrating to the NE side. These were all reported over three months ago, and one (NE) was the one patched that is now bleeding. The roads were better looked after when "town councils" were in existence.

Blocked gullies on St Ives Road by Tregenna Hotel, 10th May
During the recent heavy rain, the storm drains/gullies along the St Ives Road near the Tregenna Hotel have not been able to deal with the large quantities of rainwater, or may be blocked. The carriageway exiting St Ives and going towards Carbis Bay has been flooded so that half of it was under fast running water going downhill towards St Ives, causing drivers to slow down to prevent damage to cars or worse. Please fix.
