Bags of builders debris thrown over cliffside from car park area, 17th December
Overnigh on 16th/17th December several bags of what looks like builders debris from a bathroom have been thrown over the cliff form the lower car park at Pendeen Watch Lighthouse. The rubbish is plasterboard, broken glass (shower screen) etc. This area is cared for by the Friends of Portheras Cove, Community Conservation group as seals haul out on the sands at the bottom of the Zawn here. It is too dangerous for our volunteers to try and clear this rubbish.

Garden Waste., 14th May
I've been hacking down the invasive, overgrown and unwanted
plants in my large garden.Great for wildlife - don't use sprays
or slug pelletts etc. As usual my efforts have been defeated by
Penwith DC. Where do I dispose of all of the garden waste?
They've got rid of the village skips and the ones used for
garden waste specifically. All I have is one wheelie bin. When I
contact the Council they just tell me to compost as this is
some universal answer for garden waste.I already have 2 full
compost bins. Also a wormery for kitchen waste.I could bag it
all up and pay someone to take it to the waste centre at St
Erth. This would mean more road traffic which apperently we're
supposed to be reducing. They would have to be paid and I am low
waged.Shouldn't the Council be doing this via a bulk collection
system as thay have a legal duty to provide an effective waste
removal system?

Removal of Dog Poo Bin., 7th May
Penwith DC removed the bin used for dog owners to deposit dog poo that they (the owners)had picked up.
Penwith DC are now moaning about the problem of dog poo in the area but don't seem to understand that they helped cause it.
The bin was in Church Road,Pendeen and fixed to a telegraph pole next to the Church car park. The bin was removed over a year ago and needs to be replaced as it is in an ideal position being in an area often used by dog owners leaving Carn Eanes.

Illegal building of fences., 6th May
The Thurley family who live on asmall part of Carn Eanes in Pendeen near St Just have started erecting fences on part of Carn Eanes that they don't own.
They tried to claim this land saying that they had squatters rights several years ago. They were told by the County Council that they don't own the entire Carn yet they still put up illegal fences.
This must be stopped.
