Monksbrisge Road surface is in a shocking and dangerous state, especially for cyclists, 14th April
The road surface has been decaying for some time and is one of the two main routes out of the town and the main route out from Higher Brixham.
This is a health and safety hazard for all road users but on a cycle, and I use this road daily on my commute to work it is becoming increasingly dangerous

Dangerous Debris on Main Road, 2nd April
Between Monksbridge and Lupton House, The road has a lot of debris on it. It is dangerous because this road has a 40 mph speed limit, and I can't cycle close to the kerb, it gets worse every year. I know there is not a kerb all along this road, but where there is a kerb you can't see it. On the other side of this road there is a "cycle path", unfortunately the cycle path is only 1 metre in width in some places, hardly enough room for a pedestrian and a bike. Again this cycle path gets narrower every year!

Unnecessary parking, 18th March
These cars parking on the left side going down are causing a dangers to cars coming up the hill which have priority. There should be double yellow lines because people drive down and up this road at speed and there are often near misses because the road is not wide enough and drivers going down do not wait for a clear space before proceeding especially white vans and lorries. This means on the up side cars etc have to brake or change gear down just when they need the acceleration to get up this steep hill. Except for loading or unloading and deliveries there us no need to park as all the properties have driveways.

Cyclists and motorists turning into new road from Copythorne can not see on coming vehicles and as a cyclist every day I cycle home to turn right into Copythorne from New Road the oncoming traffic drives towards me to go around the cars parked on the junction, as I have to be on the right side of the road to position myself to turn right I am hoping yellow lines could be put in as I have had so many. Near misses and feel one day this email could be the one you wished you had dealt with, 12th April
Cars parked on this stretch of road are causing problems with pulling out of Copythorne to go left into New Road as you can not see on coming vehicles. Plus as a cyclist when wanting to turn right into Copythorne road cycling up New Road the oncoming cars are driving in the middle of the road to avoid the parked cars narrowly missing me as I am trying position myself towards the right to turn.
