FIXMYSTREET IN TN5 7PF
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of TN5 7PF:
Poor visibility of lights on approach lead to slow traffic flow, 27th April
As drivers approach the Flimwell lights on the southbound A21, the first light seen - and the only one seen until 50m from the junction - is the right turn filter for the junction. See photo from near the pub. This light is most often (correctly) at red but is a major cause of confusion for drivers who assume the whole junction is at red for them when in fact the ahead and left turn lights may be at green. But these are unseen so the result: drivers dawdle up to a green light. This I believe is a major source of tailbacks. The solution would be to simply duplicate the ahead signals on the pole carrying the right turn filter so that the green can be seen. Thanks for your attention and please let me know how to contact you if I can provide more evidence.

Continual flow of water from manholes in road, 16th February
For months water has flowed from manholes in road resulting in debris over the road. Both water companies have attended, as well as the gas company and despite repairing the surface of the road the leak continues, the surface of the road in consequence of this botched repair has subsequently sunk. This problem has existed for months and has been made worse as a result of blocked drains in the immediate area. This problem exists at a location where the one way system joins between Dale Hill and Berners Hill.

Street lighting not working, 26th December
FAO Mr Nick Owen Dear Sir, I am contacting your dept being very concerned that again the street lights along the Flimwell A21 traffic light crossings are not working on both sides of the carriageway. The public footpaths are completely blacked out & I consider the crossing & immediate surroundings to be a potential accident waiting to happen due to excessive speeds at this location. In view of the recent tragedy these lights need to be repaired/ switched back on as a matter of urgency.

Concrete and metal exposed in carriageway, 22nd November
Heading from Ticehurst down Rosemary Lane, just beyond the turning on the left to 'Downash Farm' there is dip in the tarmac within the carriageway next to the telegraph pole on left. Within the mud on the edge of the carriage way is an exposed concrete housing with sharp metal frame edge within which is not clearly marked when driving. As a country lane you are focusing on oncoming traffic, thankfully I was travelling less that 20mph as my car bounced up as it hit the concrete, the impact slashing my tyre and scuffing the alloy
