FIXMYSTREET IN TN35 4LY
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of TN35 4LY:
Large pothole in tyre lane, 22nd March
I reported this pothole about a month ago to ESCC. Someone came out to inspect it and said it didn’t need fixing, but to report again if it got worse. It has got much bigger so tried to report again. As it is over the maximum size I was directed to call the emergency line. I did and they said it’s not them but National Highways! I contacted NH to be told it is not them and to report here… Anyway, the pothole is in the tyre lane on Brede Hill outside the carport/fence of the garden of 3 Jubilee Cottages. It is at least 18” wide, 83” long, and 4” deep. It has sharp edges and is causing vehicles to swerve into oncoming traffic or brake sharply, or hit it of course!

Large, deep pothole in A28, 7th June
This pothole has emerged over the last few months. It is near the centre of one lane and is hard to avoid if turning out of Knight's Lane onto the A28.

Numerous potholes across the junction, 7th June
Despite various 'fixes' in the past, the junction of Knight's Lane and the A28 is covered in potholes and debris from them where the road is degrading. This is a busy junction used by general traffic as well as heavy agricultural vehicles all of which are causing the potholes to worsen. It is so bad that traffic turning in to the lane has to slow down to avoid damaging tyres, which causes a danger on the A28. Not to mention the rosk to cyclists and motor bikes who also frequent the lane.

2 dangerous potholes on this stretch heading into Three Oaks, 4th June
My car went into the first of these two potholes yesterday when I couldn't swerve to avoid it because hidden in shade and I was about to pass an oncoming vehicle. Caused a really bad jolt and I was surprised not to find my tyre/wheel damaged afterwards (though garage may later identify such or to suspension). Please repair both urgently as pose particular danger to motor/cyclists.

Deep pothole opposite our driveway, 13th March
This pothole has been growing over the winter and is now very deep, filled with water and is reducing the width of the carriageway, which is already very narrow. If a car goes down it, it is likely to cause damage, and if the car avoids it, it will veer towards our house, and would cause any oncoming traffic to drive over our grass verge and probably knock down our planter.

Carriageway completely flooded, 16th January
The carriageway is completely flooded (both sides) outside a house near the corner (I hope the owner has sandbags because if it gets any deeper, it will flood their property). It is so deep that vehicles are taking it in turns to attempt to drive down the middle of the carriageway in the hope they can make it to the other side. The road here is fairly narrow anyway and it is on/before/after the bend, which makes it hard to see before vehicles hit the floodwater.

Massive puddle spreading across both lanes probably caused by blocked drains, 24th October
Just drove from Hastings to Rye, before getting to the new builds in Orchard Close Icklesham and before speed limit drops from 60 to 40 there’s a huge puddle spreading across both lanes, could possibly damage a vehicle if not seen and they drive into it at speed! Assume there must be some drains blocked by leaves

Continued problem of deteriorating potholes, 8th August
These potholes have been here for years. Every time I report them the council fills one limited area. And the rest of the holes remain to get worse. The turning from the A28 onto the lane is treacherous - a breach of health and safety on the roads for cycists, and for car ownwea who have to slow down to access the lane. Whilst this turning is into a lane, it is heavily used by farm vehicles and vans, who compound the break down of the road surface.
