Serious edge of road repairs needed, 30th January
The constant heavy flow of rain water off the fields has seriously eroded the edges of the road and the verges have dropped making it really scary driving as when the water is really bad you can no longer see where the edge of the road is. Although there are ditches the are small and the water overflows fast. The issue is on the entire road. It is terrifying when faced with oncoming traffic. I have seen several vehicles get into trouble and one got caught in the furrowed out edge of the road and ended up in the ditch. The roads luke a river during rain so it's not surprising the edges have fallen away. Last time they resurfaced all they did was add to the top of what's left of the road and actually that made it worse and more dangerous. The road edges need supporting and propper drainage sorted out. This roads used a huge amount by all vehicles as well as being a popular cycle route. It looks rural but it's a main route for local villages to the south side of Ashford and a regular rat run of vehicles. At some point the river of water is going to win and the road will end up half the size. It's already a foot or more narrower than it was 10 years ago.

Temporary road closed sign, 6th August
The road is closed but if you approach from the Pluckley bethersden end and turn in you cant see the road closed sign at all. Loads of cars did the same thing. I tried to tell the guys but they said there is a sign. When I got back to the entrance I found it tucked to the left and over one side angled in a way that made it invisible to traffic turning in from the end I came from. It was so far over you didn't even notice it. Poorly considered by those who placed it.
