Old wood edging to the footpath and supportss, 15th December
The wood edging is now green and slippery especially when wet. Some of the edging supports project 1 inch (2.5 cm) above the ground level. The two items above make the path potentially dangerous in that they could cause somebody to fall over and hurt themselves. The wooden edging strips have been in ground since 2009 and are now in need of removal or replacement.

Overhanging Hedge, 15th March
Overhanging hedge making it difficult for anything larger than a car to negotiate tight corner. Also during school run times parents with children like to stand on outside of tight corner with visibility in both directions to allow traffic to pass, but currently this is not possible.

A396 - Bonniton Lane Juction, 19th June
Road Safety
Thank you for cutting some of the grass/vegtation. However, the original problem of poor visibility to the left, in the Timberscombe direction, remains. This is because the grass/vegetation at about five metres from the junction remains and still obscures ones line of sight to the left at this junction. With the probable summer growth it will become even worse.
Please functionally test for a clear line of sight, after cutting, to appreciate the danger at this juncture. With vehicles travelling north to Dunster at 50 miles per hour there is no room for an error.
Best regards
Dave Stentiford

A396 - Bonniton Lane Juction, 15th June
Road Safety Issue
Very poor visibility to see traffic coming from the left (from Timberscombe direction) due to the height and length of the vegetation. One has to half cross the road to see if it is clear of traffic before one can exit.

Regular parking at junction of Ellicombe Meadow, Minehead off A39, 29th April
Driving into Ellicombe Meadows, Minehead has become dangerous due to cars ‘regularly’ left parked on the incoming double yellow lines from A39 (presumably used as a daily parking area). When stopping on A39, prior to being able to drive directly into Ellicombe Meadows as road blocked by these parked vehicles, very vulnerable to the A39 traffic as indicating to drive off A39.

Footpath blocked by collapsed fence!, 20th February
Despite reporting the precarious nature of this fence last August nothing has been done. Consequently, it has now completely collapsed and is blocking the footpath. The fallen fence has nails sticking out that could cause serious injury if trodden on. There is now no access for pushchairs, prams, invalid scooters etc. which is extremely inconvenient as the alternative route is considerably longer. Please clear footpath as soon as possible. Thank you.

Make provision for surface water drainage and a firm vehicle passing place between Bonniton cottage and the Nutcombe Bottom carpark, 27th January
During periods of heavy rain the lane, between the two locations given above, can be under water making it difficult to see where the pot holes are.
The surface of the passing place is soft and unstable which may cause a vehicles wheel to sink causing the vehicle to rest on its sills or suspension.

Traffic Light Sensor Issue Causing Unnecessary Delays, 22nd November
Any outbound traffic on the A39 (travelling away from Minehead) triggers a sensor to turn inbound (A39 towards Minehead) traffic lights red. This is normally done to allow Outbound traffic the ability to turn onto the Dunster Steep road. However the traffic light sensor is picking up both lanes of outbound traffic, and is constantly turning the inbound lights to red whenever any outbound traffic passes, instead of only when a car is detected in the right hand lane (wanting to make a turn onto Dunster Steep). I've noticed this occurrence when travelling home at night, although it may also happen during the day. This is continually stopping the flow of inbound traffic which causes frustration from having to stop and increases carbon emissions.

Extreme overgrowth all along Manor Rd. ., 16th November
It is affecting the car parking and hugely unsightly. The small pond where the water from the hills is piped down the ditch is very overgrown and the pipe is getting clogged up. When the rain starts in the winter months it will get worst as there will be nowhere for the water to go. This has been reported to various sources but nothing appears to be happening. It is an issue that needs dealing immediately. Thank you
