FIXMYSTREET IN SN7 8EG
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of SN7 8EG:
Inadequate gap between two posts blocking access., 30th April
The new post supporting the Road illuminating light for the bus stop passengers has been placed only 580mm from the bus stop sign post which itself is only 870mm from the edge of the roadside kerb. The gap between the posts is insufficient for a standard wheelchair width of 635mm or most prams or baby buggies. For any of these devices to pass between the bus stop post and the kerb edge would be suicidal on such a busy main road, with a large amount of HGV's passing in both directions. Please co-ordinate with the bus company and the parish (owners of the bus shelter) for a solution as soon as possible

Blocked drain between gullies., 28th February
It appears that water collecting on an adjacent field is finding its way into the gully drain system which is blocked between two gullies causing overflow along the highway between the two gullies. Also, the drain pipe across the Littleworth village road, where it enters into the A420, cannot cope when there has been heavy rain, spreading the flooding of the highway further east towards Oxford.
The first two images attached were taken on 05/01/2024. Third image 27/01/2024. More images are available if needed.

Badly set temporary traffic lights on busy main road, 20th February
There are some temporary traffic lights on the A420 outside the Snooty Mehman Indian Restaurant. They have two problems. At about 15:40 this afternoon I noted that traffic going towards Oxford (Eastbound) was clearing the lights on each cycle whilst that coming from Oxford was trailing back almost to the Buckland Road / Tadpole Bridge turning.and this was before the evening traffic buildup. But worse, the lights appeared to be protecting nothing. No workmen, no work, no holes or other excavation just a few cones. I could see no reason for them at the time.

The eastbound A420 carriageway has sunk significantly in a roughly foot-wide trench just before the Carswell Lane junction. This has created a pothole effect which is damaging to cars. The carriageway has significant cracks. It is a dangerous place to stop and photograph.

A Drainage problem has been found, 11th January
There is a small flow of water which originates from the bank by the wooden gate at the bottom of Two Hoots garden. This water is seen throughout the year after periods of rain.
The water crosses the road at the corner north of the entrance to Park Farm, where there are extensive potholes. When the temperature falls below freezing the water creates a sheet of ice across the road, which builds up over time. As an example the sheet of ice on the road was 5mm thick on the morning of 11 Jan. As this sheet of ice is on a corner and covers the entire road it creates a hazard for vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians as well as causing damage to the road surface.

Blocked Gulley, 13th December
This issue was reported in May of this year but no action has been taken. The gully takes little or no surface water resulting in flooding sometimes across the full width of the highway. The gully may be connected to a soakaway that is inadequate for the situation. Please schedule works as soon as possible due to the close proximity to the A420 junction and the potential for a serious accident in the event of ice forming close to the junction.
