FIXMYSTREET IN SN6 8PZ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of SN6 8PZ:
Water pouring down the road from drain, 16th February
We have had water exiting the open grid drain and pouring down the road to the next open grid drain where it enters and flows away. This has been an ongoing problem for several years and has been investigated at least twice by a team with a lorry and 'rodding' device taken as far as the blockage (3/4 of the way towards the lower drain) and then nothing is done to clear the blockage - as it is probably a broken underground pipe. The road is now braking up and the water freezes and creates a hazard in cold conditions. It needs to be looked at again with a view to fixing the problem properly. Many thanks. R

Urgent re-surfacing work required, 2nd March
The upper two thirds of the hill road above Idstone is in a very poor state and requires urgent re-surfacing. Every time is rains a significant amount of loose materials (from crumbling road) is washed down the hill road onto the main road bends in Idstone at the bottom. I recently spent several hrs in A&E with a young man who came off his motorbike on the loose gravel and was very lucky there was no on coming traffic.

Loose Gravel - Missing Chevron Arrow, 2nd March
The corner coming into idstone from north east (Ashbury) direction, see probably 2 people go off the road per month. Each time it is because of excessive speed into the village. There used to be a large Chevron Arrow which should be re-instated at an appropriate height so it can warn approaching vehicles. Additionally due to the failing state of the Idstone Hill road there is frequently loose gravel on the corners into idstone, which will cause a fatal accident one day.

Bush covering double bend sign on Idstone Hill, 28th October
There is a bush covering a double bend, the sign is very close to the bend, not giving you much time to react, especially when you can’t see the sign til your right next to it. With the sharp bend also being located on a steep hill, not seeing the sign until last minute is not ideal. There was an accident there today. Home owners surrounding the area saying that ‘this isn’t the first accident and won’t be the last’
