Succession of potholes, 19th March

Sat, 19 Mar 2016 21:13:31 +0000
51.354032 -1.995785

The whole of New Park Street, from The White Bear pub roundabout to Wadworth's Brewery is in a complete state in both directions. There are countless huge potholes, sunken sections of road, parts where the surface is disintegrating etc. The only thing that saves cars from being damaged is the fact traffic is normally going so slowly, crawling through the horrendous traffic jams that occur on a more or less continuous basis. Potholes present as long as i can remember, but certainly since January 2016

This is a route that many elderly walk and it is very difficult after rain. There are severe puddles which are difficult to avoid. There is a blocked drain outside one of the almshouses on the left as you walk from Victoria Road towards Gains Lane/Commercial Road. This roadway has been very bad for many years but has become worse since new almshouses were built in place of a previous single bungalow. It is also bad around the barriers at the Sainsbury end.
