Parking on road, 19th February

Fri, 19 Feb 2021 18:21:03 +0000
51.929282 -4.984413

Some Tenants from Parc mean hir’ have begun to park on the road rather than their dedicated parking spaces behind the properties causing huge problems for myself and other drivers in the opposite side of the road. When we are driving out from our private driveways, we have to immediately enter onto the ‘wrong’ side of the road which is dangerous as station road is a busy road with big vehicles using the agricultural coop at the end of the road. These cars are making part of station road a single lane road.

Excessive road surface water due to poor drainage causing flooding in garden, 13th February

Mon, 13 Feb 2017 13:27:00 +0000
51.928255 -4.977478

I would like to bring to your attention the ongoing problem we have been experiencing during poor weather, where water flows into our drive/garden from the road causing flooding. Although it hasn't as yet entered into our house it has come up to the step of our patio doors. It also effects the next properties, Willow and Beech House. This has been an ongoing problem for a number of year's and has been progressively getting worse; We have contacted Emergency out of hours, Council Services on numerous occasions when the weather has been that bad! as the drains further up the road are unable to cope. (Last contacted 3/02/17) Following roadworks and relaid tarmac, this has effected the height of the kerb, allowing surface water to easily enter our property, which is exacerbated by passing traffic. Despite own attempts to prevent traffic driving over the kerb, the kerb stones are broken and council land has been churned up by tractors, lorries etc. As the road narrows heavy vehicles use parts of the drive as a passing lane causing further damage to the kerb and council land. Recently, Council work men dug trenches to divert some of the water from the road into Station Yard. However, no action has been taken to divert the water away from our properties. I have taken action by improving the drainage in our garden but this requires drainage into Station Yard, which I and the Station Yard owner, feel is not appropriate. We have had a recent meeting with Mark Baynon regarding a separate matter Ref DMO/HA1980/ Who has photographic evidence to support our claim, but following a discussion with his manager, felt it was not their problem. We have photographic and video evidence from the 3/02/17 after taking advice from the Emergency out of hours, Council Workers. We feel it's appropriate to contact your department and investigate what action can be taken to resolve this problem and perhaps arrange a meeting with yourselves, the owner of Station Yard the homeowners of Beech, Willow and Holly House. Who are all in agreement that some sort of action is required to prevent the high risk of water entering into our properties. Your input into this matter would be gratefully received.
