I was driving along the road on Sunday 21 April 2024 in the early afternoon. I hit a deep pothole which I did not see and as a consequence I have suffered damage to my car. The road along this stretch has been in a very very poor state for several weeks. I had to to take my car to my local garage and they discovered as a result of the deep pothole, my car suffered a broken spring on the front passenger side. Also the bracket and bearing have also had to be replaced. My friend took me back on Wednesday 24 April 2024 to check the pothole and take a photo but men were already working along that stretch tarmacing the holes so I have do not have any photos to support my claim. My car was with the garage from Wednesday 24 April 2024 until Friday 26 April 2024 whilst the repairs were being done. The total cost was £358.07 which I feel very aggrieved about and can ill afford to pay. I wish to claim full reimbursement from Cheshire East Council . Receipt can be provided. Yours sincerely Miss Rosemare Shilkoff

This road has been full of potholes for months if not years. Your so called repairers came, dropped some tarmac into the holes, stamped it down and left it. This piece of road has already caused accidents and now its still not safe, if a cyclist or motorbike rider goes over it there is a very really chance they will fall off, to say nothing of the damage being done to vehicles bouncing over it, the trucks will have it destroyed in a few weeks, and cars are still avoiding it by going round on the wrong side of the road. You need to stop employing cowboys and get the road surface repaired properly, once, instead of botched numerous times.

There is a series of pothold spanning the width of the carriage way (north bound). They are deep and unavoidable without going into the Incomming lane. This is causing damage to vehicles including mine and could cause serious harm to bike users. The potsholes have been there now for over 2 months and have got progressively worse. It is also causing traffic disruption in a residential area as motorists are breaking suddenly or swerving to avoid it into Incomming traffic.

Numerous large potholes on both sides of the road, impossible to avoid, although there have been numerous near-misses when traffic has taken avoiding action. The surface of the road is a disgrace considering it’s an ‘A’ road, and the volume of traffic it handles. It needs addressing immediately

Dangerous road surface, 12th April

Fri, 12 Apr 2024 21:03:29 +0100
53.093659 -2.258038

The north direction carriageway of this road has an area across the whole width of the carriageway which is riddled with depressions and poholes of varying depths. The area referred to is at least 4m x 7m and totally unavoidable when approaching the traffic lights a short way ahead. This area of the road has been in this conditiion (and getting worse) for several months now. Surely it is time it received some remedial work.

There is a significantly large area with many many potholes that is causing a significant safety issue when driving over it. This has the potential to cause a serious accident as many cars try and swerve around this patch of road which in turn could cause a serious accident and could have the ability to cause a large vehicle to shed its load due to the vibration it could cause on the vehicle. I also live in the area with a young child and will not use the foot path on this area as I would be scared that we would be involved in an accident. Not only that as a road user I am concerned that it would cause significant damage to my car. Please can this area be assessed asap as it really needs addressing.

A significant length of carriageway has deteriorated over the whole width of the northbound carriageway, vehicles are using the middle of the road to pass this damaged road, this is very dangerous to traffic southbound and is likely to end in a serious collision. We drove over it at 30mph and the bumps were so severe the engine management light came on, on diagnosis the vehicle thought it had been in a collision.

This atrocious piece of damaged carriage way is deteriorating rapidly. Vehicles are having to swerve to the right side of the road and there will be a serious accident very soon. I have just seen the Road works are scheduled for later this month which is unacceptable it needs resurfacing now not in three weeks time. The size of the damaged area is well over 2m x 2m.

The road surface has completely disintegrated and is an appalling state requiring immediate attention. I am already aware this has caused a collision as cars are having to slow down to negotiate the issue, which is significant and large. We are also experiencing significant vibration in our property from this and other issues south of the reported problem, possibly from other potholes but possibly from a apparent loose manhole cover adjacent to Church Lane. This issue with the road surface in particular is many weeks old and nothing appears to have been done.
