FIXMYSTREET IN ST18 9LN
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of ST18 9LN:
Abandoned old caravan, 5th June
Rented our field to a person who did not pay rent for many months. He was told to leave after being abusive and remove his rubbish and caravan. This has not happened after well over a year. We have someone who has offered to remove the van but we are uncertain of the legal position.

Erroneous warnings and speed restrictions, 12th September
Travelling northbound at about 18:25 yesterday (11th Sept), I saw a gantry sign warning "Congestion - Stay in Lane" and a 50mph limit with the red circle border. There was no congestion at all. The fast lane was almost empty and other lanes were sparsely populated. A number of drivers around me were immediately caught by the speed cameras, which was a little unfair, as they were driving quite safely for the conditions. Others, like myself, had to brake quite hard to get under the limit, which was dangerous and unnecessary. The next sign along said national speed limit. The next sign said 60mph and congestion. The next sign said national speed limit again and the fifth sign in succession said 50mph again. After that it was all national speed limit, but by that point we had been given SEVEN different speed limits in the space of 2-3 miles. You must surely see that that is ridiculous and potentially dangerous? Can we please have accurate, consistent and safe signage? And you should really cancel any speeding fines generated by this mistake.

Incorreqct signs, 19th August
There are several countdown signs stating that 3 inside lanes are closed in 800 yards, 600 yards etc. All vehicles, including HVGs trying to get into 1 outside lane and causing congestion. But all lanes were in fact open. Is it any wonder drivers ignore signs when there are so many that are wrong.

Over grown cycle path route 55, 22nd July
Route 55 Stafford to Newport greenway. I have used this route a few times in the past few weeks but parts of it are getting unusable. Between Hauton and Gnosall the track is so narrow and over grown that it is difficult to cycle on. Please see attached picture. If you meet anyone coming the other way or walking you would need to go into the plants which are mainly nettles to pass each other. On an accessibly front a wheelchair user or mobility scooter used would not be able to use this part of the route at all. Nor would someone with children either in a pushchair or pram or on a bike. Spaces like this a valuable to disabled and family as traffic free areas to excerise and get fresh air. Last year I used this track to take my mom who is 65 to get back into cycling as it was fairly flat wide and traffic free. She has since had a nasty accident on her bike and needs her confidence renewing but there is no way I could use this track this year due to being so overgrown and becoming so narrow. After cycling along it today I feel like I have been through a jungle with scratches all down my legs and hands and nettle stings on the full length of both calf's. It is such a shame it has been left to get this bad.

Excess Water pooling on road outside Calf Barn, St18 9PE, 30th September
The drive way has been block paved and our builder informed us we could only do so far towards the road as it belongs to the council. As a result, when it rains, the water is pooling around the drain which is causing flooding and may cause an accident. Could someone please come out to see the problem before the bad weather really sets in.

Potholes, 2nd August
The section of road by the shooting club is full of potholes on a bend, plus the road surface is mainly sandy shale in the middle, this is very dangerous on a bike as to avoid the potholes you have the shale to slide in. Sadly the whole lane is very poor but this area is dangerous, it needs at least sweeping, thank you
