Inadequate safety measures, 17th April

Wed, 17 Apr 2024 09:34:58 +0100
53.350335 -2.154657

Hello, I am writing to bring to your notice that the safety measures at the new roundabout (oil terminal roundabout) near poynton between A555 and A523 are very much inadequate. I travel daily to my office using this road. First of all, the roundabout design is not ideal. It is so much confusing. I can see frequent accidents within the roundabout. This maybe due to the following reasons. 1. The current speed limit is 50. This must be 30 when approaching the roundabout. The vehicle density is always high. 2. 90% vehicles don't follow 50 mile limit. I wish there should be a speed camera (at least 0.3 mile before the roundabout) and red light camera on each signal as well. 3. No sign boards when approaching the roundabout from Manchester side. There are markings on the road but not enough. 4. Due to lack of speed control, there is a sense of hasty/urgency which leading to confusion and sudden lane changing. I would appreciate the fact that, this connection reduces the travel time significantly but only when there are adequate safety measures. Thanks

Coming from Glendon drive going down beechfield road towards ravenous road , on the left hand side starting at the flats and going on for a few houses the hedges and bushes are overgrowing the footpath , in some places taking over half of the pavement , I have reported this every year , sometimes they are trimmed slightly but nowhere near enough . I know my neighbours have reported this as well so action needs to be taken

Corner of Mallard Crescent and Bittern Close, 10th April

Wed, 10 Apr 2024 08:55:18 +0100
53.348725 -2.146187

The hedge on the corner of Mallard and Bittern is very overgrown and encroaching onto the pavement, forcing pedestrians into the road. There is also a horsebox parked here so pedestrians end up having to walk around that into the middle of the road.

26 Mallard Crescent poynton SK12, 9th April

Tue, 09 Apr 2024 20:49:58 +0100
53.34868 -2.146385

The conifer hedge on corner of Mallard and round onto Bittern close needs attention. The roots are pushing the pavement up making it dangerous to walk on. The hedge encroaching over the pavement makes walking past difficult. THERE IS EXCESSIVE NUMBER OF VEHICLES ON THIS PROPERTY WHICH IS UNSITELY. I previously complained about this property ref: CRM 0593063 in May 2023. As a private house Six or seven Cars plus a Caravan and sometimes a horse box is pushing the boundaries of classing this as a house. It's more like a scrap yard.

Sunken/damaged pavement on Albany Road presenting trip hazard on school thoroughfare, 21st March

Thu, 21 Mar 2024 01:37:41 +0000
53.352347 -2.158107

This issue occurred today, from an apparent heavy vehicle unloading. The pavement has sunk, resulting in a break in the tarmac which has left a trip hazard on Albany Road outside 33, which is a major thoroughfare to Queensgate Primary School. This also appears to be above where the fibre cables for the street are located.

Barrier/bollards needed, 7th March

Thu, 07 Mar 2024 12:34:20 +0000
53.350561 -2.152827

This junction is causing a lot of problems. Drivers in the left hand lane at the traffic lights, which should be used for turning left onto Roy Chadwick Way, are pulling across the carriageway to then go down the A555. Vehicles that are in the correct lane at these traffic lights are being cut up and on occasion there have been some very close near misses. Drivers do not pay attention to the road markings, realise they are in the wrong lane so just decide to move with no regards for other vehicles and quite often no indication. Vehicles that were in the correct lane to go onto A555 are having to either swing into the outside lane (if possible) or slam their brakes on to avoid being hit. If there were some simple posts/bollards through this junction between the lights from Poynton to Roy Chadwick Way and the A555, this could not happen. This has been going on since RC Way opened and I honestly believe it is only a matter of time before there is a serious incident here
