Inadequate safety measures, 17th April

Wed, 17 Apr 2024 09:34:58 +0100
53.350335 -2.154657

Hello, I am writing to bring to your notice that the safety measures at the new roundabout (oil terminal roundabout) near poynton between A555 and A523 are very much inadequate. I travel daily to my office using this road. First of all, the roundabout design is not ideal. It is so much confusing. I can see frequent accidents within the roundabout. This maybe due to the following reasons. 1. The current speed limit is 50. This must be 30 when approaching the roundabout. The vehicle density is always high. 2. 90% vehicles don't follow 50 mile limit. I wish there should be a speed camera (at least 0.3 mile before the roundabout) and red light camera on each signal as well. 3. No sign boards when approaching the roundabout from Manchester side. There are markings on the road but not enough. 4. Due to lack of speed control, there is a sense of hasty/urgency which leading to confusion and sudden lane changing. I would appreciate the fact that, this connection reduces the travel time significantly but only when there are adequate safety measures. Thanks

Corner of Mallard Crescent and Bittern Close, 10th April

Wed, 10 Apr 2024 08:55:18 +0100
53.348725 -2.146187

The hedge on the corner of Mallard and Bittern is very overgrown and encroaching onto the pavement, forcing pedestrians into the road. There is also a horsebox parked here so pedestrians end up having to walk around that into the middle of the road.

26 Mallard Crescent poynton SK12, 9th April

Tue, 09 Apr 2024 20:49:58 +0100
53.34868 -2.146385

The conifer hedge on corner of Mallard and round onto Bittern close needs attention. The roots are pushing the pavement up making it dangerous to walk on. The hedge encroaching over the pavement makes walking past difficult. THERE IS EXCESSIVE NUMBER OF VEHICLES ON THIS PROPERTY WHICH IS UNSITELY. I previously complained about this property ref: CRM 0593063 in May 2023. As a private house Six or seven Cars plus a Caravan and sometimes a horse box is pushing the boundaries of classing this as a house. It's more like a scrap yard.

This has been reported earlier this week. The report was dismissed as being on private land. The Church, on whose land CEC believes the tipping occurred, are adamant that this site is outside their cartilage. It certainly looks as though it outside their cartilage. This has happened in the past and the same issue arose. CEC finally accepted the site fell under their responsibility. I have been asked to help by the Church as a member of Wilmslow Town Council.

Three Huge Potholes Between Both Roundabouts, 3rd April

Wed, 03 Apr 2024 19:20:14 +0100
53.330642 -2.192027

There are three enormous potholes between the two roundabouts that were reported several weeks ago and still haven’t been repaired. Lines were drawn around them which have now disappeared as they have got bigger and bigger. These need making priority please because they are deep and are going to damage people’s tyres. Road markings have all faded too. Thank you

Column 14- Light Out, 27th March

Wed, 27 Mar 2024 20:00:28 +0000
53.333136 -2.185713

Street light has been out for over two years and I’m being told that there are still no plans for it to be repaired and that it will be included in a ‘future programme’. This street light is covered in rust from top to bottom which demonstrates the lack of maintenance. A street light on this same road only a few hundred yards up the hill fell over in October in strong winds and could have seriously hurt someone if it fell into the road. Luckily, it fell backwards instead of forwards and missed the road and footpath. This was only down to pure luck and wind direction, it could have been a different story if it fell into the road. This street light is the same type of column and needs repairing properly please as it is leaning back and is clearly very rotten by the amount of rust. This dip also floods regularly and you cannot see the flood water clearly without this street light, making it even more dangerous. Have these street lights been structurally tested since one fell down on its own in the wind last year? Please repair as this is a safety concern. Thank you
