FIXMYSTREET IN SK6 7NT
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of SK6 7NT:
40mm trip hazard in dislodged uneven paving., 23rd April
This paving defect has been there for over a year. I have reported this problem several times over the last 6 to 12 months. Nothing has been done at all. The paving is still very uneven. I have tripped over it once at night when it is not easy to see. It wouldn't surprise me if it has caused many problems, possibly trips and injuries.

Car parking immediately next to junction, 23rd April
There are regularly cars parked at the junction of Hawk Green Road and Ridge Road. In particular a car parks on the west side of Ridge Road immediately after the junction. There will be a crash at some point because it's a difficult junction (visibility not good) and this car forces drivers (that have come up Hawk Green road and turned left) onto the wrong side of the road

Persistent Drainage Issue Cracking Road Surface, 19th April
Hi Highways Team, Id like to report to you an ongoing issue that when it rains heavy at the bottom of Dan bank the drains here are not sufficient or become over whelmed and end up causing a large pool of water that covers the whole carriageway. This is causing you to be also called out to fix numerous potholes as its breaking the road up. Is their any chance you could come out and look if we need drainage kerbs installing here or a new system as its an ongoing problem and ruining the road surface and a big issue for cyclists using this route when its bad weather.
Thanks again for any help you can give us on this.

Road needs Resurafacing Overdue, 19th April
Hi Highways Team
I would like to re-report an issue in which I reported to you over a year ago as it has got worse and been ignored for 10-15years (please see below) in which still needs to maintenance work carried out and should be added to the list as this road is well overdue resurfacing and lines and cats eyes are gone/broken. Its not fair that Marple is to be ignored as Stockport council continues to waste our tax payer money in Bramhall and hazel grove on vast bike lanes and roads unnecessarily when Marple's main road needs attention also this is outline in Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980.
Any help to get this pushed up the list for action would be greatly appreciate. Thanks again Highways team.
Mon 16 January 2023 Sent to Stockport Borough Council FixMyStreet ref: 4136748.
Hi, The A626 Marple from the junction of Hilltop Drive to the Junction of Dale road need resurfacing. The road has a very poor surface and has been dug up and patch repaired and dressing applied but its been over 15/20years since it was last resurfaced and it is overdue. The lines are barley visible on the carriageway any more and there are a large number of depress / uneven grids also. As this is the busiest road in Marple and the only way in and out the traffic volume justifies this essential maintenance.

Traffic lights out of sync dangerous for pedestrians, 17th February
When approaching the junction of the A626 with the A627 going from the direction of Marple, there is a traffic light with a stop line on the A626 just before the left turn for the A627. The light was on green as I reached it and so I drove through the junction. A very short distance from this there is another traffic light, but no stop sign on the road. This other traffic light is not a secondary light because it is part of a pedestrian crossing and in the few short yards that it took me to reach it the light was on red. This meant that had there been a pedestrian waiting to cross then they would have been given the green light to do so as the light facing me, on the road was red. This is very dangerous for pedestrians, as since there is no stop line on the road, most drivers would treat this light as a secondary light and proceed through it on red, given there is not stop line on the road. There is also no room for a driver to stop at the red light without either blocking the pedestrian crossing or, blocking right turning traffic trying to get from the A627 onto the A626. The primary light, with the stop line on the A626, and this second light on the pedestrian crossing should be absolutely in sync, as otherwise it puts pedestrians at great risk of being hit by a driver who, seeing no stop sign on the road, would treat the traffic light just before the pedestrian crossing, as a secondary light due to no stop line on the road, and so ignore it. If a driver were to notice it was a pedestrian crossing, and so stop if the light was on red, then they would be a hazard for right turning traffic approaching the junction from the A627, as they would be blocking the junction.

Huge tree blocking pathway, 24th January
The land next to my property as marked is not Stockport council land, nor mosscares. I have spoken to the city of Manchester council, tree surgeons and land registry regarding this. I have to put in a report to land registry but the lady has informed me that it's a long winded process. Children walk to school this way and it's a hazard. I don't know what else I can do. I have paid for land registry records but I am still non the wiser. Surely I shouldn't have to pay to make this safe myself as it isn't actually my property. But I am worried about it being a danger to the public. There is a lot of other much bigger trees in this land which could be blown over with the storm too.

Ice hazard on steep footpath/cycle lane, 29th November
A trickle of water flows across the pavement/cycleway after rain (almost constantly in water). This freezes at sub-zero and leaves a sheet of ice right across the pavement. This is a slide hazard for cyclists going uphill as they are moving slowly. This has been the case for at least three years (sorry I should have reported it before). I think better drainage is needed to diver the flow of water which seems to seep out of the side of the hill. A narrow metal covered gutter across the footpath would be better than the current situation.

Leaves, 29th November
We love the trees but please can we have the leaves removed along Church Lane outside All Saint's Church? There has been a heavy fall followed by rain and the pavement is now very slippy. They also have drifted in the road gutter meaning that cyclists have to ride in the middle of the carriageway. Thanks.
