Junction A10 and Ermine Street southbound, 6th April
At night it is virtually impossible to see where the A10 turnoff for Ermine Street (southbound) is. There is no street lighting, the white lines have worn away and no cats eyes to mark where the turnoff is. It feels really unsafe trying to find where the turning is, especially when a car is coming towards you so not able to use full beam headlights. You just have a couple of seconds to spot the junction before it’s too late to turn off with drivers behind often impatient and not slowing down.

Dead tree adjacent to public pavement, 6th December
This is a horse chestnut tree that has died and is very close to the pavement in Ermine street. I am concerned it may blow over onto the pavement, as it’s neighbouring tree did a month or so ago. The road is very popular for walkers, runners and families.

Overgrown shrubs, trees and weeds, 15th September
Footpath 30, running between Baldock Road and Bowling Green Lane is over grown yet again. Weeds are almost blocking the path, shrubs and trees are growing well over the edge of the footpath and overhanging the footpath, particularly the Bowling Green Road end.
The hedge on the school side is also overgrown.
When you cleared it last time all they did was the stingy nettles, nothing else was addressed hence the further problems now. Everyone I pass comments on it and I’m fed up with pushing kids along there and them getting stung!
Please cut it back properly and well back from pathway edge and maybe this won’t continue to be a problem. And please don’t forget the Baldock Road end which you had to come back to do last time as they ‘forgot’.
Also the footpath immediately behind the co-op, London Road, off Hare Street Road is overgrown with stingy nettles.
Thank you.

Dangerous road junction due to parked vehicles, 12th August
I live in Hummerston close, Buntingford and have a dangerous issue with the road junction. Ifound that over the past 12 months vehicles are constantly parked on Ermine street at the junction with Hummerston close. There are usually two commercial vehicles and a car parked here and it has made it very dangerous pulling out of Hummerston close as it is now completely blind. I believe there should be parking restrictions on this stretch of ermine street to avoid an accident. I believe it is only a matter of time before somebody gets injured here.

Slumped / fallen tree at beginning of pathway., 22nd June
The main issue is that with the heavy rain it has caused a tree to slump over causing an obstruction to a well-used path by school children, parents and dog walkers. I poked myself on a branch crouching under it, thankfully it wasn't my eye. It needs urgent remedy. The rest of the path will need attention in the near future too; the vegetation has overgrown making it potentially a dangerous side path as noone can see it from the road, school children regularly use the path and there has bee n an incident of a stalker recently. Location: Difficult to describe: off Norris Way, Buntingford, is a bus circle - there is a footpath that runs off the bus circle along a business park and parallel to Bowling Green Lane. The obstruction as at the start of the path on the bus circle., Buntingford Footpath 035, Buntingford

There are around 8 separate incidents of dog fouling on the grass area, 17th March
There is a large grassed area at the bottom of Neale Drive which is shielded from houses by mature trees. It would appear that this is becoming a favoured spot for dog owners to let their dogs foul and not clear up. Currently there are around 8 separate dog poo’s on this area. There are no litter bins or dog poo bins on the Maples estate which is adding to the problem.

Accessibility issue for mobility scooter, 15th September
No way for mobility vehicles to cross Applewood adjacent to Ermine street due to lack of access slopes. Until this point all roads have a means to cross road safely. If you are unaware of this hazard the only option is to reverse to the previous street and travel in the road. Seems odd that this is a new housing development but has not included accessibility provision.
