Shoeburyness is quite remote, but it's a great place to start a family. There's plenty of open spaces around, and Shoeburyness Beach is just a short stroll away. I used to commute into London every day from Shoebury, which takes around an hour. Season tickets for C2C trains were a bit pricey though. All-in-all, it's a nice friendly neighbourhood, although you need a car to get around to many local places.
