FIXMYSTREET IN SO43 7GR
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of SO43 7GR:
Unsafe cattlegrid, 25th April
This cattle grid is relatively new. The upper surface of the bars are smooth and when wet are like ice. I have come off my road bike x2 out of 2 heading north over this cattle grid in the last 2 weeks. It is only a matter of time before someone comes off and does themselves a serious injury coming down the hill at speed. I’d have thought it either needs the bars scuffing up with an angle grinder or some type of road surface applied to the upper surface of the bars.

?brocken manhole cover, 9th April
The manhole cover has started to make a very loud noise/clatter when traffic passes over it. On inspection, it appears to bounce up a few centimetres when cars or lorries drive over it. I am concerned that this is unsafe and may result in a catastrophic issue if it becomes displaced. Furthermore the sound that results is very loud and is disturbing dozens of local families.

Ignore photo, see previous reports about drains, 22nd February
Outside 29 Northerwood Avenue the water is running right passed the drain, and on to the main A35 Bournemouth Road, where it will add to the usual flood opposite the top of Chapel Lane.HCC spent lots of time topping the tarmac a few years ago and did not finish the work well. This drain has a depression in the tarmac beside it, so poss taking 10% of the water running in its direction. Maybe the others have been equally badly affected.

Water board left signs and so much mud drains will block, 12th February
Water board finished work 2 wks ago. Signs left, so much mud the drains will block. I am trying to upload more than one photo, but system won't accept atm. River of muddy water has been left to flow downhill to next three drains, no attempt to clean. Grass verges were driven over leaving ruts that will fill with water, pavements also covered in mud and a hazard to pedestrians. Finishing the job on the day on site would be great for customers and residents. SO43 7DU

Drain cover missing, 2nd October
Within 50yds of this location a small drain cover is missing. It is in the driving line and “shakes” the car! I have reported previously and received the unhelpful feedback that this cover was not the responsible of the council! This is a dangerous situation. If the council is not prepared to contact whoever is responsible perhaps you can tell me and I will follow up.
