Temporary lanes are too narrow, 4th April

Thu, 04 Apr 2024 15:11:54 +0100
50.927847 -1.317282

The temporary lakes that have been put in between junctions 5 and 7, both East and Westbound are too narrow. Lorry’s cannot stay within the new lanes and this busy stretch of motorway has become a death trap. Someone has incorrectly measured the lanes. They were not this narrow during the smart motorway repairs. Even the local newspaper has raised this as “risk of fatalities” with lots of local people reporting near misses already. Please urgently send someone out to make the temporary lanes wider or you will cause accidents and be responsible for deaths. Please read the Facebook comments on the daily echo post about this matter. Hard to see white lines, 3rd March

Sun, 03 Mar 2024 07:29:13 +0000
50.918637 -1.316611

When driving direction is face to sun light in J7 at M27, it is very hard to see the white lines due to very bright sunlight especially during 1320-1340hrs. I found the problem less visible of white line is because the road surface is light colour. If dark color of road surface is used, whiteline will be more visible. Please can you change the road surface back to dark color from J5 to J7 in both direction or add high visible color on white line which is easily to see during strong sunlight. Please can you check it and improve it as it is easily to overtake other line incorrctly.

People speeding in 30 zone along Quob Lane, 23rd February

Fri, 23 Feb 2024 21:22:38 +0000
50.933624 -1.331508

There is a Lack of 30mph signs along Quob lane in the residential area and entering the residential area of Quob lane. People speed well over 30mph heading in to or out of the national speed limit part of Quob lane, living next to the road and walking along it most days with my dog people exceed well over 50/60mph along it. Its a very straight piece of road in places and allows people to build up a lot of speed. This road is residential and has a nursery/preschool along it. My child goes to the nursery and it’s worrying to see cars constantly exceeding 30mph. I would suggest more 30mph signs along the road, a speed control sign that flashes if someone is speeding and some traffic calming on the roundabout outside Quob farm close /Barbe Baker Avenue as people speed along both ways of the road and drive straight over the roundabout. It’s very dangerous with children and dog walkers in the area. The problem in my opinion is lack of signage and the roundabout isn’t suitable to slow drivers down.
