Flooding of my property from two separate roadside sources, 4th April
The first source of flooding is a rainwater drain on my property which has been flooding for about two months. I had some drainage engineers here on 3rd April 2024 and they have discovered the drain exits my property and goes under the road. They’ve rodded it and there’s no blockage within my property boundary. As fast as they tried to pump out the floodwater it’s filling back up again – they think there may be a flooded gulley or a soakaway that’s stopped working. Severn Trent tell me they have no drainage assets at all at my property and that it comes under Roadside Gullies or some-such at my local council.
The second source of flooding started on 15 March 2024. There is constant flow of water coming up out of the road, which flows down the slope and straight under my front gate where it joins up with the flood from the aforementioned drain to form a small lake on the path to my front door. I had a Severn Trent engineer here on 3rd April and they are adamant that it is not a clean water supply leakage issue. They don’t know where the water is coming from and could only suggest that it may be rising ground water which is, again, the responsibility of the local council.

Underground road drain blocked or broken., 30th March
Water seeping up from the underground highway drain close to my property. Severn Trent sent an engineer. Severn Trent confirmed no water supply leaks.
