Frequent flooding on Lighteach Road which takes weeks to clear, 23rd April

Tue, 23 Apr 2024 10:34:32 +0100
52.900093 -2.672584

There is a relatively large section on Lighteach Road (from near the driveway of Lily Hall, round the corner towards Prees) which floods every time there is even moderate rainfall and takes weeks to clear. The fields on either side of the road are higher than the road itself so I can only assume there are some drainage channels which used to be effective that are now blocked (the problem has been getting progressively worse in the time I have lived locally). As the flood goes round the corner and the road is single track we often have issues with cars meeting and nobody wanting to reverse. At times the rest of Lighteach Road is clear apart from this area, meaning vehicles driving down from Coton are using the driveway at Lily Hall to turn around (if they believe the flood is too deep/long) and this is damaging the verges further ( as well as pulling more mud out onto the road surface). It has only just cleared in the last week after the picture taken on 3rd April.

Large pothole at edge of road between Lilyfields and Lily Hall, 23rd April

Tue, 23 Apr 2024 10:24:20 +0100
52.900989 -2.672638

There has been an issue where the verge has deteriorated creating a sharp drop at the edge of the road for some time. This area of the road floods every time there is even moderate rainfall so it has been getting progressively worse this winter/spring. During the last flood a large agricultural vehicle went onto the verge and eroded the road surface further (the tarmac is now narrower than it was previously).

52.896306 -2.659204

Flooding running off farmers field at GR: 355769/333306 down unamed lane (there does not appear to be any means of drainage or ditches in the field). It has flooded a number of properties either internally or externally - Severn Trent have attended site and confirmed water is not from their Service Reservoir, it is off the fields. Landowner is aware of the problem but nothing done about it do date.

Now 2 potholes and original much deeper, 28th March

Thu, 28 Mar 2024 11:26:45 +0000
52.897537 -2.660035

Original problem caused by Oen Reach and they should be responsible for proper repair. Through not being attended to this is now very deep and only avoidable by driving on opposite side if carriageway which most now do. This will definitely unseat a cyclist and the depth is not visible when filled with rainwater.

Illegal speed limit sign, 20th March

Wed, 20 Mar 2024 09:53:23 +0000
52.879065 -2.654272

A few weeks ago this 20mph speed limit sign appeared even though the road is 40mph. Along with the box which is painted yellow to pretend to be a speed camera, it all seems quite deceptive as no signs indicate a speed camera and speed limit change.

Rusty road sign, 13th March

Wed, 13 Mar 2024 08:44:45 +0000
52.897193 -2.672759

I am emailing about the sign of Pheasant Close, Prees, that was changed on Saturday (09/03/24). There is 2 Pheasant Close signs, one of either side of the road. The one on the left was replaced on Saturday, and I was very surprised to see this being done anyway, but the sign that is in better condition of the both was the one being replaced which I didn't understand. The sign that is there now is rusty and horrendous which in my opinion should have been changed over the one that was changed which wasn't that bad. It now looks a complete eye sore with one sign brand new and the other on the other side all rusty and a mess. Will the other road sign be replaced as well to match the sparkly new one?

More than 38 potholes., 12th March

Tue, 12 Mar 2024 21:13:15 +0000
52.897466 -2.666016

I stopped counting at 38 potholes. Starting at Brades Road junction straight to end of Mill Street. Whole road needs resurfacing because they are never filled property by the workers and then small holes are ignored and then they are back out to fill them because they get big eventually. Please don't ignore.
