Blocked drainage causing flooding, 1st March
1-2 miles before J38, northbound on the M1 there is poor drainage that allows rainwater to start flooding at the bottom of the hill. This will stick around for days after rain but is especially bad if the rain is heavy like today.

Always parks the car here and makes the corner a blind bend, 8th February
In my opinion this diagonal part of the corner is to allow traffic to safely drive round the corner. This car regularly parks here, making the corner a blind bend and difficult to pass if a car is coming the other way. There are also a number of small children who live on the road and any car trying to pass this car wouldn't be able to see the children playing

Inconsiderate parking, 19th November
Person with a van always parks in such a position that it is causing an issue with buses trying to turn right, they have to mount the right kerb causing damage to tyres, also an issue with persons stood on the path and a concrete manhole that may not take the weight of a bus

Extremely bad road surface, 19th July
This is a general comment about the road surface from the start of Dearn hall road basically to the four lane end at Mapplewell, it must be the worst road in this area. Can’t understand why the council finds it necessary to resurface Mary st and Cross st at Barugh Green when obviously there are a lot less cars etc using these two streets. Regards Ray Wilmet

Dead cat on central reservation., 2nd July
There is a injured / probably dead cat on the central reservation of the M1 between jct37 and Jct 38. It was hit by a car at about 10am Saturday 1st July. I think the location was approximately 1 mile south of Kexbrough.

Cars constantly double parked near the junction., 11th January
Cars are continuously double parked at the junction of River View and The Grange. Barely wide enough gap for a car most of the time. Emergency vehicles like an ambulance or fire engine would have no chance getting through.

Poor road repair, 31st October
There has recently been a repair on the stretch of Lane Head Road from one side to the other. The repair is shocking it is a 50mm speed hump they have left on a 60mph road and it spans both lanes.
Admittedly it is worse on your way to Cawthorne but is still poor on your way to town. Just using a piece of wood has a straight edge would have solved the issue. However they have left it like this and it’s dangerous given the road carries a National Speed Limit.

Public right of way lynton place to Huddersfield Road darton, 22nd October
This is a public footpath used daily by lots of people but has not been cleaned since last November. It is full of rubbish litter dog bags(since the waste bins was taken away)and is a disgrace. Have complained about the issue since July but so far BMBC have done nothing.

This Road must be one of the worst roads in Barnsley it’s about time it was sorted from the Barnsley road junction (Royal pub area) to the Millers pub.
