Bolt sticking up from speed cushion, 23rd February
Large bolt protruding from speed cushion, problem widespread in village with this type of speed cushion due to heavy goods vehicles. The council keep coming out and tapping the bolts back into place but the next large vehicle that passes over them loosens the bolts causing them to stick up damaging vehicles.
This issue has been ongoing throughout the village and local councillor has been in contact with highways to discuss a better solution but today further up the village there are 7 workmen replacing speed cushions with the same system and trying to tap the bolts into place with a hammer!

Numerous large potholes on entire stretch of road, 15th January
After you turn off Billingley Lane (there is a particularly nasty stretch just as you turn off) the entire stretch leading into the village of thurnscoe has horrendously large potholes covering this area of which have cause damage to several vehicles over the past few weeks due to recent weather fluctuations. Pothole diameter and potential to cause damage has increasingly worsened in the past 8-12 weeks. It is hard to take photos along this stretch as it is a national speed limit road that I only drive down, not walk, and cannot stop nearby to take appropriate photos.

These Chicanes cause a huge amount of traffic build up in both directions at various times throughout the day causing commuters to be late to work delayed getting home. Please can an alternative speed control be looked at to avoid holding up traffic and flooding the area with idling cars. This morning traffic was backed up past cathill roundabout.

Speed humps, 15th November
The speed humps through great houghton are not fit for purpose. They have bolts to hold them down and are always coming up making it dangerous to drive over, the council comes and puts them back then it happens again again and again it must be costing a lot of money.its dangerous going over them when a car is parked near them and they don't stop lorrys and larger vehicles from going too fast ,we in this village are sick of them it would be safer without them. Thanks Janice Holmes

Bolts sticking out of bumps again!, 15th November
These speed bumps are really not fit for purpose the bolts are sticking out more times then they are in. Cars are swerving all over the road to try and hit the middle bumps head on but avoid the parked cars on either side of the road. I’ve had to replace two front Tyres which are only 12 month old due to wear on inside the garage have advised driving over these bumps several times a day have caused the issue and knocked the tracking out too! Please try remove the bumps fit full length of road bumps this will help ease congestion too as people won’t be able to park how they do now
