FIXMYSTREET IN SP5 1BU
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of SP5 1BU:
Deep pothole just before the change from National to 50 mph limit, 29th September
As you approach Lopcombe Corner/A30 from the Stockbridge side you pass from a national speed limit into a 50 mph zone at the brow of the hill. About 10-20 metres before the 50 mph sign there is a deep pothole in the carriageway that is quite hard to avoid - and obviously because of the speed of the road and the brow of the hill moving over into the other carriageway isn't an option! Please take a look at this one as soon as you can - it's potentially creating a collision hazard on a fast stretch of road!

Deep pothole on nearside as you head downhill towards caravan showroom, 8th November
This has been here for quite a while but the recent rain has made it worse. Its on a national speedlimit stretch of road running downhill so if you do catch it with your nearside wheels when oncoming vehicles mean you have to tuck in, its a really huge bang inside the car.

Regular carriageway flooding, causing danger., 4th February
Regular carriageway flooding after heavy rain (which is within reasonable expectation in the UK), causing standing water in the road. This is a danger as the road is not lit, and it is a main A(30) road where the traffic may be travelling at up to 60mph. Existing strewn car parts show this point experiences occasional vehicle damage events. The carriageway drainage is currently insufficient - please can a permanent solution be devised and implemented (eg raise the road level by 12-18inches in this dip area, piped drainage between each side)? A couple of 'slow-flood' signs doesn't really permanently address this issue. Please.

Road surface in need of resurfacing/potholes - A30, 30th April
The road surface is very badly broken up at the bottom of the hill (when one drives from Stockbridge to Lopcombe corner on the A30, after the 50mph sign decend the hill, at the bottom of this hill you come to the damaged area.) Please could you fix/patch/re-surface this area?

Drain cover dislodged and tarmac deteriorating around drain., 18th March
This is an ongoing problem. The drain cover has been dislodged leaving a gaping hole. Also the tarmac around the hole is deteriorating with time. The drain is blocked and so, with the recent wet weather the area is often flooded, hiding the danger. Recently some blue plastic barriers and road signs have been erected, but these have been hit by vehicles.

Road surface dangerously broken up - A30, 11th January
The road surface, which I've complained about twice before now with little response from Wiltshire CC (other than 'we'll look into it'), is deteriorating at a more rapid rate due to the recent cold 'snap' and wet weather.
The speed limit on this stretch of road is 50mph but most drivers are now having to slow down to ~30mph to avoid damage to their vehicles as they pass over the damaged area.
The damage is on the A30 road approaching the Lopcombe corner junction (where the A30 and A343 join). If one is driving towards Salisbury from the Stockbridge direction the damage is at the bottom of the hill (the hill that you descend after entering the 50mph limit of Lopcombe corner).
Please, please, please don't keep ignoring this damage Wiltshire CC. There will be an accident due to this road surface sooner or later!

Road surface badly broken up, 18th September
As one drives towards Lopcombe Corner on the A30 (at the base of the hill by the industrial units on the left) the top layer of the carriageway is badly eroded. There are a series of 2"-4" deep ruts that are significant enough that a cyclist must take evasive action to avoid wheel/tyre damage or an unscheduled dismount. This is a fast section of road (50mph limit) making this a very dangerous section for cyclists and motorcyclists. The damage is significant enough that if one doesn't straddle the damage in a car a VERY loud thump in heard and felt through the car's suspension.

Delamination of the carriageway, 26th June
As one drives towards Lopcombe Corner on the A30 (at the base of the hill by the industrial units on the left) the recent bad weather has caused the top layer of the carriageway to be eroded/wash away. This has left a series of 2" deep ruts that are significant enough that a cyclist must take evasive action to avoid wheel/tyre damage. This is a fast section of road making this now a very dangerous section for cyclists and motorcyclists.
