There are now many deep potholes along the whole length of Hanlye Lane particularly heading towards Cuckfield. Some are becoming dangerous especially if oncoming traffic makes stopping the best option.

Safeguarding issue - Children's crossing, 22nd January
There is a narrow, single lane, priority section of the road that is also a crossing point for children. Due to the high volume of traffic during school pick up and drop off, cars move in to the single lane section and then get stuck there as they cannot reverse back and cars from London lane cannot go back on to the main road either. This is a section of road where children cross so visibility becomes greatly reduced and it is not a safe way for them to cross the road with cars at a stalemate and not moving out of the section of road. We would request that someone comes to look at it.

Sunken and loose drain cover on London Road near Barrowfield, 16th December
The drain cover was replaced a few months ago, but it was not raised properly, and the repaired tarmac around is all breaking up again. Every time a vehicle drives over it there is a tremendous banging, which can be heard some distance away. It is by the pedestrian crossing near the end of Barrowfield, Cuckfield.

This morning I found a dangerous large deep sharp-edged pothole in Hanlye Lane just before entering Cuckfield. It looked to be caused by the erosion of a repair done a few months ago.

Dangerous deep pothole with sharp edges in Hanlye Lane, 6th September
In Hanlye Lane heading towards Cuckfield and before Horsgate, the pothole has now become dangerous. It is deep with very sharp edges. Unavoidable if there is on-coming traffic unless you stop. Could, and probably does cause damage to cars.
