FIXMYSTREET IN RH1 3HY
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of RH1 3HY:
Multiple pot holes, 26th April
I’m have reported this several times and nothing is ever done about it. Cars swerve into the other carriage way to avoid the pot holes. That’s into oncoming traffic. There are many, in the middle of the road, on each side of the road. You can see the road markings of the old road underneath. Just this week there have been 2 near misses where cars travelling in opposite directions have nearly collided trying to avoid the potholes. It won’t be long before someone is reporting an accident to you rather than a pothole.

Dreadful, unsafe road surface and many potholes, 7th April
This stretch of Nutfield Road/Nutfield Marsh Road from the bend in the road at the junction with Cormonger Lane before the width restriction to after Mill Lane is absolutely littered with large, deep potholes, some VERY deep and the road surface is in a generally disgusting state. One of the larger holes has a traffic cone placed inside it as it's so dangerous to road users. There is going to be a serious accident here as a result of this road surface, which has been reported repeatedly in the past and ignored! Motorbikes and cyclists don't stand a chance on this road and you have to wait for oncoming traffic to go past so you can use part of the opposite carriageway in an attempt to avoid the holes and thus avoid damage to your vehicle. Nutfield Marsh Road was resurfaced relatively recently and this whole section was ignored - just doesn't make sense! What a waste of taxpayers money! Please fix ASAP.

Dangerous Parking on Junction, 5th March
Can you please install some double yellow lines on Battlebridge Lane on the carriageway heading into Redhill, at the junction with Nutfield Road by All Saints Church. Cars are consistently parking here near the kept left bollard, making it very difficult and sometimes impossible for vehicles to get through, as drivers are not leaving enough room. I watched a home delivery driver struggle to get through the small gap left today, so if they had trouble getting through, this means an emergency vehicle or similar larger vehicle would not be able to gain access. I have also witnessed a larger van being forced to make a dangerous, illegal manoeuvre by driving the other side of the kept left bollard as they couldn't get through. This is a daily problem.

Damaged pavemeny, 29th February
A fair bit of damage has been caused to the pavement outside my property today (29/02/2023) by a car hauler. I have more images if necessary and footage from cctv showing the damage being caused and the company of the hauler. This is a huge hazard for myself, especially using a pushchair and leaving and parking on my drive. It is also a hazard for all other pedestrians, and we are very local to a primary school.

Lots of potholes, 24th February
Multiple pot holes on this section of the road. I have reported previously directly to the council and it’s not been fixed. I fact 1 pot hole was fixed but the others next to it were left. With the recent heavy rain the potholes are covered so are not easy to spot. There is 20-30 m stretch of road that’s just in a terrible state.

Flooding again, 9th February
This location floods regularly due to the drains blocking up. Numerous Merstham residents report this and on occasions your gully sucker unit does clear the drain. It is a major route for parents and children walking to local Schools and the pavement gets flooded. This has never been resolved. Apart from getting the drain clear why can the pavement and kerb not be raised under the bridge to enable a safe passage for everyone walking between Merstham and South Merstham.

Constant Flooding, 8th February
The area under/around the bridge on Battlebridge Lane constantly floods every time it rains. It covers the road and footpath, is very deep and causes dangerous conditions for both vehicles and pedestrians. You are unable to walk on the pavement due to the flooding and it covers both carriageways. Please repair this issue ASAP, it is a very busy road and is heavily used for children and parents walking to/from Lime Tree Primary School.
