Damaged tree/bush hanging into road, 28th April
Damaged tree/bush hanging into carriage way with thick branch right at HGV mirror height. Have to go onto chevrons to avoid, saw broken HGV mirror casing in road this week. Direction from Playhatch to Shiplake, nearside, by third telegraph pole past The Flowing Spring.

Flooding due to blocked drain, 28th April
Every time it rains, this drain and the one by the French Horn back up and cause flooding across the road. The Thames has dropped substantially, therefore cannot be the cause of the flooding. Having been flooded earlier this year, it's likely this drain and the one by the French Horn have filled with silt and debris and need cleaning out. Urgent action is needed to keep this crossing over the Thames in use.

Road Surface quality, 23rd April
The road between The French Horn and Sonning Eye has fallen into a very bad state, with numerous potholes, to the point where it has become dangerous. This road needs to be resurfaced at the earliest possible opportunity.

Large pothole, 15th April
This pothole has been here for a long time and now every time the road sweeper lorry comes to the village to clean the roads after the flooding caused by the drains always overflowing it is getting deeper and damaging one of my cars when we drive out onto the road..

Hole in road, getting worse, 5th April
B478, eastbound, towards Sonning: left hand side of the road, near the farm entrance, a hole has got bigger/deeper, now with standing water. Not easy to take a photo, as not easy to stop and park, or walk as a pedestrian. Various other holes etc. in the road from the roundabout to the French Horn. All getting worse.

Damaged post, 27th March
This bridge post has been damaged for over a year. It is crumbling and getting much worse. There is a real risk of it toppling and hurting someone on the narrow pavement - it is already forcing people to walk closer to the road, so is hazardous. If it falls it might also fall into the road and cause a road obstruction. It needs fixing urgently

Road markings not visible at roundabout, 27th March
I am continuing to report this, as I believe there is a real risk of injury or risk to life from these markings not being repainted, and proper signage not being in place. As mentioned previously, cars speed through, without slowing, and don't treat it as a roundabout. For cars trying to join the roundabouts from Sonning Eye, the corner is blind, and there is a real risk of a car speeding into the drivers side door. We need new road markings and new signs, reinforcing that this is a roundabout. It is a roundabout on the busiest B-road in Oxfordshire, and needs to be treated as such. I will be asking the Parish Council to follow this matter up.

New holes/cracks in B478, 24th March
Between the roundabout and the farm, heading towards the French Horn, just after the roundabout: new holes and cracks have appeared, eg in the middle of the road. They throw the car. Must do worse for cyclists.
