FIXMYSTREET IN PR4 6JS
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of PR4 6JS:
So many Pot Holes and very poor road surface, 8th April
As a resident of Southport, I am deeply frustrated by the state of our roads. Whether driving a car, riding a bike, or simply walking, the presence of potholes is an unavoidable and dangerous reality. The road conditions in our community are worse than I've ever seen in my lifetime.
Our lovely town deserves better. We deserve to move around safely without risking damage to our vehicles or ourselves due to these hazardous road conditions. It's high time that Sefton Council takes immediate action towards repairing the roads in Southport.
According to RAC Foundation data, one driver makes a claim for pothole damage every 17 minutes in the UK (source: RAC Foundation). This is not just an inconvenience; it's a significant financial burden on drivers and poses serious safety risks for cyclists and pedestrians.
We call upon Sefton Council to prioritize road maintenance and repair all existing potholes urgently. Our community should not have to endure such poor infrastructure any longer.
Please sign this petition in the link below if you agree that we need immediate action from Sefton Council for safer roads in Southport. Thank you so much

Concealed lane following bend in road, 18th February
Cinder Lane is a small lane positioned after a sharp bend on The Gravel. Cars cannot see the turning into the lane prior to the bend. When driving out of the lane there is limited vision and a risk is always taken. There have been several near misses and on 14th February a serious accident occurred where a Toyota Land cruiser, driving along The Gravel, drove into a car turning out of Cinder Lane. Consequently the damaged car has been written off. I have no doubt similar accidents will occur if no action is taken. Although 'slow' has been painted on the road, it is after the bend, and of no use to the turning for Cinder Lane. There needs to be a safety mirror positioned to ensure safety for this turning.

Huge pothole in the road next to the fishing pond and after the Chapel, 3rd April
Potholes on this entire public road are always a problem for the last 20 years.
There is little to zero road maintenance here, despite several houses and farms who all pay vehicle tax - the road is turning into a 'track'
Rarely fixed and when repaired it's just a rushed jobs.
In the last 3 weeks my wife has burst two car tires on this road. I am becoming dismayed that we are just not looked after by the council in the area.

Water will not go down the gully, in front of my house because of tree root., 7th February
I repoted this complaint back in October 2014, two men came out to look at the gully in the road at the side of our drive on Tabby Nook, Mere Brow, on the 23 of October 2014, they could not get into the pipe because of the tree roots and they were going to report back to their superior, and explain the situation to him. No one has been back to clear these roots and we have to paddle through water to get on to our property if it has rained.
