Tree preservation, 23rd June
Tree preservation order application. The ash tree at this location is under threat from developers. Ash trees are an endangered species in this country from ash tree die back. This is a well mature tree and provides for many different forms of wildlife, birds, squirrels etc. Whilst not in a position to specifically say bats roost there they fly about the area in the evenings. This tree has a great visual effect on the area and is the only native tree to talk of in the surrounding area. Trees bring benefits to everyone. UK is in dire need of more trees and to destroy this one would be criminal.
