Litter and rubbish, 16th February

Thu, 16 Feb 2023 09:48:33 +0000
50.392148 -3.885634

Along the verge of the eastbound carriageway of the A38 between Ivybridge and Marley Head there is a trail of litter and rubbish [ie short sections of yellow pipe, plastics etc]. Some may be litter blown along from laybys, other looks like it has come off vehicles. There is some along the westbound carriageway [especially in the layby on the Marley Head west bound slip] but not as much. Plastic is being blown and caught up in bushes along the verge. It really does look a mess. I appreciate that there are scheduled clearing sessions along the A38 but it seems particularly bad at present and once vegetation starts to grow much will be obscured and difficult to find. It would be nice if this could be dealt with.

50.377528 -3.88496

We received contact from DCC regarding a defective broken M/H which is located within the grid ref provided. The resident was concerened that the manhole is causing excess water to be conveyed onto the highway, causing a flood risk and in the winter cause a potential ice risk. SWW have attended on two occasions, first time we visited we avised this was a EA Culvert for a stream. Second time our Techncian attended and confirmed its a cover on top of a cover and is the responsibility of Devon Highways. Please can this be investigated with yourselves.

Series of potholes on south bound A38 + Litter + dead badgers, 23rd February

Tue, 23 Feb 2016 20:23:45 +0000
50.396883 -3.868171

Going southbound on the A38 from the first layby after the Wrangaton A3121 slip road there are a series of potholes [10+] emerging in the nearside lorry track. These have been there a week or so but the tarmac surface is beginning to break up by each pothole. They stretch almost to the 3rd layby [just before the Ivybridge slip road]. Also the verge, especially by the 2nd layby, has a lot of very obvious litter lying about. There is also a dead badger in the "gutter" just past the 2nd roundabout; incidentally there is another dead badger on the opposite [northbound] carriageway in this area that is beginning to smell such that we noticed it inside the car this afternoon and with all windows closed. Can these reports be passed to the Highways Agency who are responsible for the A38 trunk road.

Very poor state of road surface and gulleys/ pot holes appearing on side of road on whole of Green Lane, 2nd February

Tue, 02 Feb 2016 15:34:30 +0000
50.395825 -3.862906

The general state of Green Lane is dreadful. The drainage is non existent causing water to flow constantly down the sides of the road which is causing the road surface to disintegrate. This is a small but busy lane where you have to constantly pull into the side which adds to the problem. The road surface is also in a very bad state of repair. This has been an on going problem for many months, years even.

Sun, 26 Oct 2014 21:42:34 +0000
50.3985376839187 -3.88459894564407

Our local kids play park in Bittaford has been rendered unuseable due to dog mess, despite there being signs put up by our local dog warden advertising a number to call to report the problem. It's clearly not working. The footpath needs diverting and dogs totally forbidden from the play area. It's a health hazard and it's disgusting.

Every time a car drives over it there is a very noisy clank clank. Apart from the unacceptable noise, which is day and night, if not fixed it could break.
